<thank SimpleMicheal and JustDarkness for this thread>

We have chatted about our key elements, our diversity, even our prejudices and our labels. In some recent threads the word(s) "evolved" were used.  That got My attention--I see life as an evolution,  constant, dynamic----I am not what I once was and yet I am much of what I started out to be and I will become what I never imagined.

In this life, pffttt boy when I really came out in public did I make mistakes, did I poopoo things that people snarked at in order to be accepted and was I unhappy. Then I framed Me, the things I preferred, the way I wanted things to be. It took patience, frustration, diligence and growth to be what I am today. I spent time listening and watching other relationships both F/m and M/f---I was a sub for a time to learn. I did RT, community etc, I even had the honor to spend time with a stellar Pro who shared Her inner soul. I left, came back, left, came back and came back and dug in because I cannot be all that I can be with out this side of Me.

I believe this time may the the right time...

what has been your evolution?

Why does there have to be one?

Why can't it just be that this IS they way life was supposed to be. I am the same person now that I was at 16...not much has changed with the exception of time, and age

We all change in response to our experiences. Some things we try work well, others fail spectacularly. In some ways i'm still the same person i was at 20, or 30, my core personality and values have not changed that much. But i've learned a lot about what works for me and what doesn't, and so in other ways i'm very different.

Not necessarily. Not everyone 'learns' from their past experiences; some actually go out of their way to NOT pay attention to the lessons learned.

In my case I see an evolution in regards to my relationship.  I am calmer in my role than I was a year ago, more trusting, not so worried that my Master will wake up one day and simply be bored with me.  I see the relationship slowly changing, too.  I see him putting more trust in me, him giving me additional duties, and have seen changes in the style of our sessions.  There is more comfort between us yet it has taken away none of the excitement.  I look back at old emails and all but laugh at myself - I thought I was doing my best as a slave at the time and yet I can see how clueless I was about certain things  I know that in six more months I'll be able to look back at now and see more growth.

I don't know if it's so much evolution for my husband and I as it is education, if that makes any sense. We're learning more about what we like and we are becoming more comfortable with what we like, which allows us room and confidence to learn more, and so on and so forth.

what has been your evolution?

I think it is impossible to answer this question with any accuracy or depth.  At best, I could refer to moments in my past that have lead to significant change and evolution to what I was to what I became.  However, even with referring to these specific moments it would take a short story to relate how that given moment changed me or caused me to evolve beyond what I was.  I don't have the time or desire to attempt to relate these moments and relate to what they moments have meant to me.  But, I can relate that my evolution has both it's ups and it's downs but the trend has always been making a better me.  A better me.. is a happier me!

My evolution started when a lott of problems came at once. You have to survive then. That costs lots of energy..but in the end I learned a lott....and gained a lott.
I became more calm...can accept things more eassy....I think before I speak ( a bit longer)....I learned to say no(instead on continuing and waisting time).
Although I would have prefered to die in those shit periods...lol...I am quiet happy how I evolved.

ps. Why is this thread thanks to me?
just curious ;)

Evolving has and is an ongoing factor in my life. When I first became aware of it was at 19 ,when I dreamt my brother's death and I had to help him to the light. I didn't know anything about the 'light' nor did i know he died the day I dreamt it. It was 2 days later that I discovered that dream was reality, and my life took on a noticeable change. After that 3 years later another major event occured where I had an near death experience and again I knew I was evolving. Since then I have had several more major periods of rising from the ashes.

I don't think I have evolved, so to speak. I simply took away, tossed away pieces of things that weren't truly me. I liken this to Michaelangelo removing all the marble that wasn't part of David. He himself said he didn't create David, he simply revealed him.

But I did all this work prior to looking for a dominant partner. Most of it through therapy.
