HERE is something you should be aware of if you are a Yahoo user.

This is hardly news. MSN do it as well. All chat sites keep records of your IP addresses when you use them and all this information is stored.

Yeah, I knew they did it.  A lot of sites do it.  I'm not worried about it; it's not like I am doing anything illegal on the internet.

It may not be news...but it can be easily stopped by following the instructions. I personally don't like Yahoo tracking my travels then selling the information to spammers.

I don't get a lot of spam.  I get maybe 2 or 3 in my Bulk folder a day.

The fact that we are being "tracked" is hardly news.... the simple instructions are helpful (to those that can follow instructions :) for those who are worried about it.

Privacy is an illusion.  Accept the fact that anything you do online could potentially be made public knowledge and act accordingly.

if you really want to know how many unwanted tracking cookies you are getting, download and install Spybot Search & Destroy. This is the most effective anti-spyware (malware and virus) program that I have ever used. It will find, identify, and remove tracking cookies along with other nasty things.

I have configured my browser not to keep cookies or any history, it sure cuts down on the amount of crap spybot, A2 and super antispyware pick up. Yes, three scanners, all of them work in different ways and they get run in safe mode once a week.

I also use Crapcleaner, it is run when I close my browser.

Excessive perhaps, but for the last four years I have done this and as a result I have had very few problems, nothing that could not be sorted out by the scanners.

Whoever or whatever you use on the net, they just have to be collecting information, as they are in the information technology industry.
