BbwCanaDomme -> Is it ever not prostitution? (1/5/2009 2:39:29 AM)

My friend and I got into an argument earlier over whether or not sugardaddy relationships are prostitution.

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with prostitution assuming all parties entered the situation willingly. That being said, I think it's silly to insist that sex in exchange for money isn't always prostitution. It doesn't matter if it's a regular arrangment, if there are funds exchanged, it's hookery.

What do you guys think?

While I agree with you that prostitution is a basic business transaction and what two parties do together in that fashion is their own business, if you widen the net far enough everything can be painted as prostitution. Andrew McCarthy's character in "St. Elmo's Fire" (I believe that is the flick - I'm no authority on bad 80s cinema) is approached by a hooker and he declines saying "I don't pay for sex". The hooker replies that everyone pays for sex but with your wife or girlfriend you never know whether you're going to get it or not - with a hooker you know exactly what you are going to get.

Do alimony and child support count?  Seems that it is almost always barter of some sort.

Well the term sugadaddy implies going out with an older wealthy man who looks after you, i think its a bit more complex than prostitution but it probably comes under the umbrella.

I have heard it said many times before that all women are prostitutes but I dont think that argument holds up as well when women are independant. But it is an idea perpetuated by some women using sex as a tool or chip to get stuff done.

No it has nothing to do with prostitution..Most of my Daddy's you could say they are of the sugar variety as I am spoiled, do not work and all my bills are paid etc..My late MasterDaddy left me very well off when he died too but just because they spoil me should not be a negative,I love them and they love me and with  all my relationships I am in it for the long haul...and having SugarDaddy's does not mean you are loose or have a lot of sex either.I have only been with 5 men in my entire life.

So many answers spring to mind, however, the most direct and kindest is it's my own damned fault, we just never settled on the price.

kittinSol -> RE: Is it ever not prostitution? (1/5/2009 7:01:00 AM)

Ah yes... you got more than you bargained for, hmmm?

atursvcMaam -> RE: Is it ever not prostitution? (1/5/2009 7:39:56 AM)

Actually less than i bargained for, at a much higher price, but as i said, my own damned fault.

FullfigRIMAAM1 -> RE: Is it ever not prostitution? (1/5/2009 10:08:13 AM)

Is that all a sugardaddy is, a man with whom one has sex and gets money from? I thought there was a relationship involved?
I don't see the need to relabel it though, unless you're just trying to hate on whoever has this setup. Everyone gives and gets something from a relationship. How you value or devalue yourself within a relationship is your business, but I don't think it should be your business to call a woman out of her name simply because you don't like her relationship or its parameters.  A guy/bf/fuck buddy pays my rent... yup, I'm a hooker in someone's eyes.  A wife goes out to work and hubby stays at home... he's a hooker, in someone's eyes but is he really if they don't have sex or except maybe once a month... would he then be a well paid hooker? A guy/bf/fuck buddy brings me food... yup, I'm a hooker or hungry... food or cash... only matters to the IRS... maybe a hooker... but not paid well.

We don't need to be judging and proving a point with friends do we?  About things so debatable... that really don't matter... or do we?  Isn't life too short?

Ahh you know I adore debates about unimportant topics, as do many many many people on this very forum, so nope life isnt too short.

LOL... very true... I guess it was the arguement word that rings a bit different than debate.

The answer is no.  What about those who don't desire sex?  By the tone of your decision process, we may as well call all men older than their female partners sugar daddy, because they are older and have sex with presents and by that process, I got me a toy boy.[:D]
