Reply to all: RM, She was mid-thirties. Yes, something else I hadn't thought of: she might well have been getting a kick purely from email interest. Or even just the offer of gifts/money. That sounds plausible - there was something about her that seemed new to the game. In particular, she didn't have a pic that looked remotely "dommy", like most do. God's sake, she was even smiling in her pic. That, in fact, was one reason I was drawn to her. Darcy, I only hope it's peculiar to my area. The thought of flitting back to London, say, seems an easy option after having seriously begun to consider jumping the Atlantic. colouredin, Yes, I think there might well be some who are into playing at being pro-domme. It's odd - yet, I can imagine they get takers, too. Lady Hib, M and Ms S, Stop teasing or I shall cry. Tasha, LOL! That cracks me up. Yes, I've seen those twenty-year-olds saying they're from Liverpool, Canada, or similar. God, you'd think a little research would be in order, wouldn't you? Another reason they're such a cinch to spot is because they never look at my profile first. I used to ask them, when I could be bothered, "What was it about my profile that prompted you to write to me?" ALAstella, Yes, your thoughts echo my own. I've wondered a lot about apathy, lack of realisation about one's desires (versus what I see in e.g. Americans) in the UK. I don't have anything, now, against pro-dommes. It has to be said, they do 'mop up' those subs who don't want more than an occasional buzz (or who can't go for more, because they're already in vanilla relationships, for instance). And it may well be that there are lots out there who actually get a kick from being exploited. It's only the pretence that bothers me. Well, I feel I'm getting better as the days go by at sorting the wheat from the chaff . . . .
