I'm not particularly fixated on feet, but like all the other parts of a beautiful woman I am entranced by the look and feel of feet. Not to say ive seen some really ugly and/or neglected feet but ill bypass that for the time being. The sexual differentiation thing mentioned earlier might be on to something, womens feet just look distingtly female. Maybe thats why its identifiable as a sexual turn on, who knows. For example seeing a woman barefoot walking on the beach or boardwalk is an expression that is both vulnerable and of strength. Its an expression of freedom from having her feet bound, yet limitation in the way she couldnt just run anywhere upon more nastier terrain and is willingly giving that up. Its all very submissive in practice and imagery to me and thus exquisite in its beauty. As for sensations, feet are packed with nerve endings, and because we imprison our feet habitually in our society the skin is usually oh so tender. When you think about it historically, feet were designed with a lot of nerve endings for a reason (think about all the walking over different terrains pre-shoe era). Nerve endings are our friends. Like any other part of the body, but no more so, they're not very attractive if not well-tended. So, you have clean, smooth, well tended appendages with lots of nerve endings. Sounds like some other body parts, that like and get lots of attention. It is sensual to both give and receive foot attention. Very sensual, and, for the submissive, also adds in the flavor of 'worshipping at his feet'. A much maligned body part.

An interesting piece of trivia I learned in a neuropsych class: we were reading about the tactile-sensation part of the brain, and in one of my texts, there was a drawing, sort of a map of where each body part's sensation area is located in the brain - turns out the "foot" area is right next to the "genitalia" area. I actually read a case study of someone who had brain damage in this area, and experienced (very big, intense) orgasms...in her foot. Speaking of psychology, if we really wanna get into WHY foot fetishes are so common, my personal theory has to do with the fact that when we're children, we see a lot of FEET.

I wouldn't say I'm a foot person. But I've been turned on by very nice and particularly shaped feet. It's not just "feet" it is very specific feet. I've only seen a few set of feet that I'd want to do anything other than put socks on them. But the few that were perfect in my mind I'd done all kinds of nastiness to.

Well, I read through most of the replies and I didn't get any closer to understanding this fetish than I started. It's a mystery to me too. I definitely don't go bonkers looking at feet, but at the same time I certainly know how many nerves are on the feet, so using them to accomplish my goal (let's see, what is my goal today? tease...torment...tickle...topple?) puts them on my list. But if any real foot fetish fiends out there can look inside themselves a little and explain...I'm all eyes.
