So what in the world goes through your head when you read an obediently crafted email and YOU RESPOND WITH A ONE LINE MESSAGE???

Ladies, this is a two way street. If you want to get a little, you have to GIVE a little.

Ummmm...would that one line response to you be, "Thanks... I'm not interested?" [:D]
K

Bwahahahaha! (wipes tear from her eye). Priceless.

Not going all the way thru, but guessing,,,,,,YOU'RE RIGHT!!!!!!!! [:D][:D][:D]**walks out of the room holding sides........

MissA -> RE: Domme One Liners (1/5/2006 12:15:41 PM)

Even if a sub has sent a long drawn out response what is the point in continuing the conversation if you feel you have nothing in common and are uninterested in starting any kind of relationship? How is it rude to simply say "Thank you but I don't feel we're compatible. Good luck in your search." This is especially true when I get a long form letter type message that makes it obvious they haven't read my profile or they wouldn't be talking to me from 2000 miles away begging me to dominate them on cam. In fact, a response within a week is very good...after a week it's safe to assume they are not interested. Move on.

Now mammasboy [:)], isn't that the exact same advice that should be given to the person that receives that one liner response? [;)]

K

OMG,,,, Ladies, you are making me smile way over my quota today, RFLMAO....skips to go get a variety of cheeses....

Seriously mammsboy, if they give you a one liner, then don't answer them back, that'll teach them!!!!

I much prefer a one-liner response to no response at all ;)

Heck, I would rather recieve a "not interested" than nothing. At least you know the person took the time to read it and such.

I'm with you.

"Thanks. but no thanks" is far better than "Deleted Unread."

I can see your point of view, Tasha, but have to say, for me...I delete messages without reading them. When my profile/journal are VERY specific about "local" only, and say as an example, that someone from the UK, or Israel responds....they are wasting their time and mine. Why waste more? The message sez, "if not local, you're e-mail will be deleted"...so most times, there are no surprises for some of the respondents, when they see "deleted unread." (Although I'd never delete you, Tasha [;)]...or anyone else from the Message Forum, if I recognize their SN. [:)])

Well, the only times I have written to someone who was clearly not a match for me, I expected no reply. These messages, all five or so, were only quick favourable comments on something in their profiles that struck me. Ironically, all of these messages were read, and most of the recipients replied to them.

If I send a message to someone in hopes that there might be something between us it is only after careful consideration of whether there really seems to be a possible "fit" between us. If there are obvious showstoppers...age, distance, sexual orientation, "type" being sought...there won't be a message at all.

Of course I realize that my idea of what constitutes a "fit" is not necessarily shared by another, and that Dommes on this site...well women in general...get loads of email. I realize that I may not get a reply, or that a quick one-liner may well be the best for which I can hope. But, if I have put some effort into a message, and tried my best not to be a time-waster, "Deleted Unread" really sucks.

Having said that, it really isn't the end of the world...I just move on.

artglfr -> RE: Domme One Liners (1/7/2006 2:49:52 PM)

Perhaps if you didn't yell at Dommes you may get better responses. Just a theory. for every Domme there are literally hundreds of male subbies like us searching and posting and praying to attract the attention of a Domme and i would be very surprised if you didn't attract the attention of a few and NOT in any way they will EVER want to contact you.
Please don't yell at Dommes. This should be a subbie Mantra.

Dommes are Dommes and like it or not they respond in ANY form they choose and if you get any response a POLITE "Thank You for the consideration Ma'am." MAY show your heart is in the right place and actually get some positive response

Just a theory again and if your way works for you then we are seeking two different type Dommes.

thanks,
art

TeeGO -> RE: Domme One Liners (1/8/2006 6:17:38 AM)

My profile (at this time) is extremely bland. That's OK because I'm not really looking for anything with no need to impress. So obviously I have never received a site mail. However, even though I am a mere male sub, looking for nothing more than education and conversation on this site. I do have a real good view of this phenomena from the other side.

I have a friend (Female Sub) seeking a Dom. She has no computer and has never cybered anything. I told her about this site so she comes to my place and uses my computer and decided to sign up on Collar me. She put together a nice profile and we took some "HOT" (and I'm talking white HOT) pics.

OH MY GOD! Within 24 hours over 400 hits. YIKES!! Neither one of us expected that. It was overwhelming. She had to just start deleting (without responding) a great many. Many that were truly worthy of a response, but were in no way even a possibility. She feels bad about that, but with the limited time she has to go through them it was the only way to get it done.

And that's my point. We guys have to understand it's a totally different world for the Ladies. They have to do what they have to do sometimes.

Let me give some solid advice for those seeking. If you want to get some attention, you need to make a STRONG impression. Very strong. It cracks me up that this sub female is dictating the terms to the Doms. But like she says, they are not her Doms now. When they earn her submission, then she will submit. Until then, they need to impress or be rejected.

Now how about that? I didn't even know until now that there is a "Deleted Unread."

You mean to tell me that all of my messages were read by the Ladies? That's amazing!

Gee... doesn't this qualify me for a gold star or something? ... [:D]

Of course, if you're also going to take into consideration the percentage of my messages that were responded to, you'll probably be thinking more in terms of "Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out" instead of a gold star... [;)]

tasha_tart -> RE: Domme One Liners (1/8/2006 9:18:45 PM)

Yes...if you go into "Read Mail"...then "Sent Mail"...it will tell you when the message was read, if it was read of course. If it was deleted unread it will tell you that.

Yes, I've known about the other stuff, but since I'd never seen "deleted unread," I didn't know about it until reading this thread.

Let's just turn that around from a submale

"You are not my domme now. Once you've earned my submission then you can be my domme".

Hmmm. It doesn't quite ring authentically, does it? ;) Unless that submale was inordinately popular and pursued?
It shows that being sub or dom -at the seeking stage-has nothing to do with relationship sought. It's about who is in demand and who is not. Too many of one category devalues them.Too few makes them more valued. This is simple marketplace dynamics
But is one's submission different in nature if one knows that there are plenty more striving to want to be ones dom/domme? Doesn't it affect the power dynamic?

Well when cm first came online that was a wonderful thing to list the new users.
That is the result when the whole world can see that you posted a profile at once.
Just another good cm idea that has outlived its usefulness
i have written to women in my region when they first signed on only to
look the next day and their profile is deleted.

BitaTruble -> RE: Domme One Liners (1/25/2006 12:52:11 AM)

Damn, I read the subject header and thought this was going to be a thread about the favorite one-line zingers of Dommes. Ah well. Life is full of disappointments.

Celeste - whose favorite one line zinger is "Would you like me to sew your ass cheeks together because I think your butt plug is falling out and it's making you cranky."
