Ron Asheton, the guitar player for the Stooges was found dead in his home this morning, according to a story I just saw on the CNN web site. There were so many incredible groups playing in SE Michigan in the late 60s/early 70s like the MC5, Savage Grace, Rationals, Red White & Blues Band, Seger, Sky, Plain Brown Wrapper and on and on and on.... As much as I loved the Stooges, I sure as hell didn't think they'd be one of the most highly regarded Detroit/Ann Arbor acts. I'm glad they got the recognition they deserved. Ron Asheton rocked! Check out 1969, No Fun, Little Doll, 1970, and Fun House, just to name a few. Damn. Bob
