Why is it that diversity is attacked so here? Not everyone of course. However, I have been sitting here, reading some of the responses. I have to say, it's a shame. I thought this lifestyle is what you make it anyway. I have heard that there is no "set rule system".

I just read one response to, what seemed like a nice gentleman, in the "Ask a Master" section. It was down right mean. Sure, we're all entitled to our own opinions. Does that give anyone the right to make fun of, or light of someone else's opinions? We're adults, not children.

Of course, an individual can voice their opinion about anything....freedom of speech. That does not warrant an attack though. It goes both ways, reguardless of your outlook in a debate.

I also read something there, that made perfect sense. "We are all adults, so act like it". Come on, how hard can that be???? A little respect and common courtesy, goes a long way.

On a lighter note, most everyone here has been very nice to me. They have went out of their way to answer any question I have had. LOL, there are always those rotten apples in a bunch though.

Thanks for reading my little pet peave,
Myra.....

SentForu,

Much was written during the 1960s and 1970s (race and gender equality movements) about the tendency of the disenfranchised to form into groups intolerant of their own differences.

I agree with you, and apologize if I have said anything mean spirited to other people on here.

JM, CBW, BTYG

Sinergy,
You have been anything but mean spirited on here. I have never seen you that way with anyone. BTW, what does JM, CBW, and BTYG mean? LOL, I've been wondering that for a while now, just didn't wanna ask.

It's Sinergy's standard sign off, reduced to acronym form (because of the cast, I believe).

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

Just like in any other subset of society, you'll find all types here. Some will be jerks and some will be angels (I'm an angel and have the pictures to prove it), some will be idiots and some will be Rhodes scholars, some will be tolerant to a fault (and it CAN be a fault, if overdone, imnsho), and some will be closed-minded.

Our differences are what keeps things interesting.

Sometimes, myra, you'll read responses to posts, particularly in the "Ask a Master/Mistress" sections that may seem a bit harsh, or heated. Those posting work it out. A lot of valuable information gets posted during the exchange, which benefits the reader, more often than not. When the smoke clears, everyone is standing and accounted for.

Until I started following M'Lady around I almost never went on the "Ask a Master board" because I could not care less.

"Master" must mean immature. (And I get called a boy? Note: only one person can call me a boy without me telling you I'm thirty freaking seven.) New guys rountinely get dissed for asking a simple question. I'd reccommend at least letting somebody prove themselves to be a jerk before making them be a jerk in response to your jerkiness.

I have not seen that level of "jerkiness" amoung Mistresses. Sure there are some claws bared but for pure cattiness on needs a penis apparently. (At least female subs keep it private.)

Sorry for the rant. It may be that M'Lady is attracted to quip on those Catty boards where Masters will be boys.

Unfortunately, this isn't a perfect world. i too would like to see more respect shown rather than some of the mean spirited comments. Take what you can from those who are willing to impart their knowledge and ignore the rest.

As I've said before when things are near and dear to the heart people are quick to get reactive especially when someone tells them that what they have been following their entire lives is "wrong".

only one??? either you are dissing M'Lady Beckett in favor of mom or you are dissing mom in favor of M'Lady Beckett - and what about dad, grandmom(s) and granddad(s)? I would think they could call you boy with relative impunity (pun intended of course)

M. Beckett et al. please realise this post is meant entirely in jest and I do not really feel that iwill meant any disrespect whatsoever to anyone - I just had to 'give him the mickey' a little bit

As the swamp dwelling denizens, looking for lovely filth, of ancient England told King Arthur:

"Im 37, Im not old"

Then went on to explain that the swamp dwellers live in an anarcho-syndicalist commune.

And yes, Arthur did automatically treat him like an inferior because some moistened bink lobbed a scimitar at him.

Some people seem to think they have the "one true way". Not just in BDSM, but in all walks of life. They'll argue with a post to prove that they are right. In my experience, there are as many ways to practice BDSM as there are people who practice. Different people have different "itches" that they want scratched. Just browse through the ads and read what some people want and you will understand perfectly. A lot of it doesn't appeal to me, but I don't publicly disapprove of it either.

And I agree with SherriA that there is such a thing as being too openminded. Sometimes I think some people's brains have fallen out.

I don't comment on every thread, because I don't have an opinion about everything. If my opinion is along the lines of "What were you thinking?", I keep it to myself. Sometimes I will post an obviously "minority opinion", perhaps in the interest of diversity or sometimes in the interest of perversity.

<gazes into space with trembling lips and watery eyes....>

That is my ultimate favorite scene in Holy Grail!

King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king.

Dennis: [interrupting] Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

My mom has heard I thirty freakin' seven (or whatever freakin' age is correct at the time) but insist I'm her baby boy. (Then I say I have not been a baby since the Johnson Adminitstration, before the moon landing, or before the Tet offensive; pick one.)

M'Lady does not hear it. She also does not often call me a boy, but she can.

As for the disclaimer, don't worry. M'Lady knows I'm perfectly capable of getting in trouble on my own. (I think that was a "" [Or should say "I hope?"])

Are you talking of the opression inherent in the system?

Oh, I introduced M'Lady to that movie. She also needed to see a group of people being crucified but looking on the bright side "for life is full of shit/ when you look at it. / Life's a laugh and death's a joke its true. / Something something just remember that the last laugh is on you. Soooo..."

Oh, the capital of the Assyrian Empire was Nineveh. (I think.)
