keria -> bbw leather/pvc boots. (1/4/2006 8:47:05 PM)

hey all,

I'm a bit larger than what the typical sites cater to. I'm looking for calf and thigh high boots that are sturdy and, most importantly, actually fit over my calves, etc.

Does anyone know of a store that caters to plus-size that covers footwear? Other fashion stuff would be neat, too.

Thanks. =)

--edit-- beh, sorry this is in the wrong forum. *sighs*

I'm not sure where to look, but since my calves and thighs are bigger than the twigs people seem to design fetish clothes for (grr) I look for lace-up boots that don't have a tongue... that way you don't look to big to be in them.

Hi there

I have the same problem.

Try buying 'bed boots' ... they are thigh length and are designed for wearing in bed. They do not have the shoe setion,just a stocking / sock atteched to the foot end. The bonus is that you can wear your own shoes and then slip them of from time to time for an "aah that feels good factor".

Regards from sunny Spain.

Hey that is a really neat idea. I did get some great stuff on search, too. I may be about to go broke, or something. ;)

Thank you, everyone.

Another good option is to wear boots that have lacings all the way up, rather than zippers.

Also pull up boots work great they feel tight at first but the elastic does stretch. I know how you feel the other day was about to buy a pair, was able to get the zipper all the way with a lot of shoving and pinching, and finally got them up to find the zipper kind of bit me. SO I didn't bother.
Also depending on where you are, even near a big city try a transvestite store that caters to people with larger feet and calves.

While I am still not a tiny woman, I use to carry around an additional 85 lbs everywhere I went including the 5 mile walks I took to loose those 85 lbs. My calves and thighs were pretty big before that, but no where near as big as they were afterwards thanks to the muscle tone that formed.

It is always a challenge finding boots that will fit over my calves; however, they do exist. There are some where the shoe portion is leather while the calf sleeve is spandex. These are great and fit any size calf. However, I wanted a pair of thigh high boots very badly. So I looked for a pair that laced all the way up the boot in front that were platform with a high chunk heel. (These are MUCH more comfortable to staying in longer than 2 or 3 hours, and I can actually play in them. Remember, you are putting a good bit of weight on your feet so the less arch and more foundation the more comfortable you will be.)

I found a pair that had what I wanted; except they had a tongue in the front that would make me look like I was squeezing a fat leg in a little boot. So.......... I took an exacto knife and cut the tongue out at the bottom of the ankle. Since the bottom of the shoe closed all the way until I got it past the bottom of my leg, this would never show and still made it easy to slide the boot on. Whenever I lace the boots (or have a subbie do it), I pull it tight as possible around my calves and slowly allow it to open in a controlled V pattern. By the time the boots are laced, I look like I have a corset on each leg. GORGEOUS!!! I get TONS of compliments on them.

i'm not a small woman either. i own a pair of leather moccasin boots that i wear for working at the renaissance festival, that come up to just below my knees. they lace up the front and don't have a loose tongue.. they work more the way a corset would where the boots are so big around and you cinch them in with the lacing to fit.

i get mine from www.renstore.com it's under clothing and accessories.

here is the link to the pair i own

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions.

re: platforms. I am not a 'platform style' girl - I prefer the stilettos. But, on top of that, no matter what shoes I wear, after about 5-10 minutes on my feet, I'm in intense pain. This has been since I was born, even when I was fit,and has to do with a complete lack of arches. One day I'll see a podiatrist. But wherever I wear these, I intend to do the majority of my time sitting, or barefoot. But I will wear these somewhat often, and force myself to get used to them. I may get a pair of each, and wear them depending on what I'm doing. =)

Thank you all, again, for the great help. I love the idea of lacing them all the way up, that does sound really beautiful.

I live a bit aways from a major city, but I travel to NY often so maybe when the beautiful snow gives way to the even more beautiful ground, I'll take a drive and go shopping. Heck, I could even deal with Boston for this. *cringes*

I've found all kinds of boots for larger calf sizes in the typical plus size catalogs/websites like Lane Bryant and Silhouettes. Most of their clothes are yucky but the boots aren't bad and are made for women with larger legs.
