Nope, but that's a good guess.

Nope. I'm afraid it's a little more obscure. You've got the right decade, Intenze, but the movie is not a comedy. It's a rather complex psychological drama, very serious in tone, that just happens to have one character toward the end who has some cleverly written lines.

If it's Enemy at the Gates- your hint threw me for a bit.  If it's not- well, then I suspect I haven't seen it.

Holy shit! How'd you do that? Yeah, John Banner's character had some good lines in that film. The other good one, that I almost used, was even better - "In Germany, a man must make as much money as he can during wars, so that he doesn't go hungry between wars." I was wondering if anyone here had ever even heard of that film. Good movie, especially for James Garner and Eva Marie Saint fans.

Only Groucho Marx could deliver a line like that, and i'm pretty sure he did it in "Duck Soup." Another one I've got on DVD. I should pull out all my Marx Brothers DVDs some night and just watch 'em one after the other.

OK, from the DVD I watched last night, and one of my all-time favorite actors -

"Wait - give her a head start. It gives her the illusion she's being chased."

Oh, no, it was a much better actor than Cary Grant, and a considerably more debonair man. I'll help things along with a little clue, from the same scene as a matter of fact...

"Oh, really, Merle Oberon's eyes? And what's Merle doing for eyes these days, using Katherine Hepburn's?"

A winner! Peter O'Toole had the first line, little What's-His-Name had the second. Your turn!

Yeah, while we're waiting for Banzai550 to give us another quote, we can hijack the thread with a little appreciation for Sir Peter . . . . . Oh, yeah, baby . .. . .

I particularly loved him in 'The Ruling Class', he's gorgeous, fucking hawt hawt haaaaaawt & the story is so fabulously fucked up . . . .. . Thumbs way way up . . . . . Mmmmmmm, happy memories . . . ..

Okay, well, I'm gettin' this thread going again . . . . .

She: How do you know you're God?

He: Simple. When I pray to Him, I find I am talking to myself.

Shoot. I don't have that DVD. How'd that happen? I need to scamper over to Amazon and order one up; I've done enough scurrying for one night.

OK, let's try this one, from the movie I watched last night -

"John, where's the wound? Where's the wound, John; there's no wound.... this isn't your blood, John. Whose blood is this?"
