rob425 -> HELP: Electrosex(Rimba/Zeus) basics help (1/12/2009 4:06:55 PM)

I recently purchased a Zeus/Rimba Deluxe Digital Power Box with the elastic penis bands. (This box says hands free masturbation tool)

So I put the bands on connected them to the one of the channels and turned the unit on and just by turning the power up one press of the stronger button felt horrible so I immediately turned the unit off. I am scared to try it again and I want to know if I am doing anything wrong?

-Do I need that eletrosex gel they sell?
-So using water base lube will not make the shocks worse?
-What else should I know before I try this unit again?

I am completely new to eltro-play in general so any help I can get would be great!

Rob,

You are in Mass. there are many groups there that do great education. I am sure some of their workshops cover these units. While I am sure you will get some get advise on them here there is nothing repeat nothing like going to a demo/workshop on electrical play. Electrical toys are not normally something I would recommend for anyone to just pick up and start playing with. Electrical play is generally more advanced in nature and best tried with someone experienced with the equipment.

I hope you get some advise on here, I have been playing with electrical devices for about as long as you have been alive but without me actually having you and your in front of me I can't help you out on it. It could be there is something wrong with it or it could be you are a whip when it comes to CBT. I don't know that is why I recommended what I did.

Mike

I consider myself far from a whimp when it comes to CBT(zippers, wax, parachutes, humblers, and impact play is all I have really experienced there) but this is a completely new arena of play for me so I would like to know the basics of approaching electroplay as there is absolutely no information available and their company's website wasn't helpful at all. IE does the area need to be wet where the electrodes are, do I need to buy the fancy electrosex gel advertised, etc.

I am sure their are workshops I could attend but I would like just some general information before I persue it further. Also my current schedule leaves little to know free time besides the occassional post here

Thank you for your help Mike but I think each person responding differently to different types of stimulation could be a possibility of why I hurt myself but I would like to think not

EDIT: Read the manual to another TEN unit toy and it said: "Most types of electrodes must be thoroughly moist to work properly (except stick on TENS-style electrodes). Electrode gel designed for use with TENS units is best."

So my question is whether I can used water based lube with my Rimba/Zeus tens unit?

My guess (and it is just a guess) is yes use the gel it recommends...and if you want confirmation call where you ordered/bought it from.

For maximimum enjoyment find a workshop.

Electric play can produce very intense pain. I have a Erostek unit and have not seen the Rimba machines in person.

My first question is how familiar you are with the directions for that unit? Are you certain that the voltage was set at the lowest level? With both contacts on such a sensitive organ, the intensity will be much sharper than on a larger body part, such as the leg. I hope that you fully understand the use of the control box before proceeding.

Next concern is the electrical contacts. If one is barely making electrical contact, the sensation will be very intense (painful) with the potential to burn the organ. Water based lube, such as KY jelly, is not intended to conduct electricity and could actually cause more pain. Salt water would be a be a better option. The best would be the Tens electrode gel (sold as electrosex gel by sex shops). The "bands" that you mention look like ESD straps from the pictures that I have seen online. These usually only make electrical contact on the metal backing plate and work best very tight on sweaty skin (or skin moistened with salt water). I have not tried to use these for electrical play because of the difficulty using them for their original purpose. The chance of a faulty connection ruining my fun is too high.

These are the most likely causes of the pain that you described. Beyond this, your best source for help is what Mike suggested, an in person training session so that the knowledgeable person can visually verify that the electrodes and equipment are used in a manner conducive to your desired result. Good luck!

I have been using tens units a long time. I have a rimba (not the same model you have) and 2 erostek ones. I did look and notice that on the "deluxe digital power box" , the one that goes for around 100 to 110, it only has the pre programmed modes and intensity by the looks of it. and no way to adjust the rate and amplitude like the "begginer box". So i would sugest try a low intensity then go through the the programmed modes one at a time. and vary the intensity a little on each one until you find a comfortable setting.

Now as to cock attachments, i have yet to see one that is worth much. they have small contacts an very few contacts, so a burning sensation is more likely than a "shock" , same as the pads give. The larger the contact area and the more constant the contact is what you want for pleasure or even disapline pain. Small contact area and lack of pressure on the contact area will usually result in a burning sensation, sometimes like someone stuck a cigarette on your penis.

On the lube question, you can try to use a water base one, but test it on the bands to make sure it wont damage or stain them. Any lube or jell , even vassilene will reduce the burning feeling, when contact area is small or lacking pressure. How ever electrosex lubes will conduct far better.

If you are semi handy and have a hack saw and a medium duty soldering iron you can make your own genital attachments. 10 or so inches of 1/4 inch copper tubing, 1 inch of 1 inch copper pipe or 1 1/4 copper pipe , solder a wire to each and a 1/8 inch phone connector( or depending on what your unit takes , my erostek takes 1/8 inch) and make something that looks like this, this works great for both pleasure and pain for bdsm.

I have even made some wierd copper cage type designs for genital play , they can been seen from my main page.

Thanks for the advice I am definitely thinking a more spread out electrical current rather than to just one point would be more ideal....With all the automotive wiring experience I have I think developing some

Testing the straps with the ID Pleasure Enhancement Lube the straps seem to not be affected... But I will purchase the electrosex gel when my next pay check clears

One question before I try it again. There is a button marked "Higher Intensity", what is meant by higher intensity in this case?

What would be a safe place to put the sticky pads (on myself) that come with the rimba/zeus? (To try it out in a manner just to become acquainted with the unit.) I would think a pad on each side of one of my thighs or a pad on each butt cheek? I am just wondering because I would rather stick to safely exploring electricity until I attend a demo.

Irishm57 -> RE: HELP: Electrosex(Rimba/Zeus) basics help (1/15/2009 12:19:56 PM)

I have never really used the pads that came with any of my tens units. They tend to be inflexible when it comes to skin shapes. Until you get more familiar with tens units, always keep the connections on the body below the waist and also don't do leg to other leg. Once you get more familiar with the unit and what it can do , you could explore other contact methods.
Try them on a leg or the ass, but they only stick and work well with cleanly shaved skin.

Intensity is in almost all cases the actual voltage output of the unit. You could almost compare it to a stereo. ( in some cases some home made tens units are stereo amplifier based) The intensity is like the volume and the programmed modes on your rimba are modes which vary the bass and treble. Just start off with the intensity on low , and play with the programmed modes where ever you attach it.

I will let you know one thing, the intensity needed to fell the sensation will be higher on legs and thighs etc. than it is on the genitals. So don't think the level will have the same effect. let's say if your intensity has settings like 1 to 100 , a 10 on the legs might be a tingle, but a 10 on the genitals could make you jump big time.

Thanks for the advice again.

I tried it again with with the waterbased lube and had a much better experience, I only ever put it on the lowest setting as the electric feeling is completely new sensation for me. I'll slowly work myself off until I go to a class and become better educated

Irishm57 -> RE: HELP: Electrosex(Rimba/Zeus) basics help (1/18/2009 12:44:51 AM)

One other thing you will find, is if you make your own attachments or get ones that have a better coverage area, you won't need lube or electro gel . I don't use any lube or gel with the rings i made. If you do make any out of copper , i use medical cloth bandage tape as an insulator since it is easy to remove for when the copper needs cleaning from the tarnish that builds up. the tarnish after a while will block conductivity. so the copper needs to be cleaned on a regular basis.

SadysticJester -> RE: HELP: Electrosex(Rimba/Zeus) basics help (1/18/2009 10:06:35 AM)

we sell the Rimba units and all the attachments,as well as use them regularly. use the gel that come with them and if you can afford them use the stainless steel devices that go along with them,,the silicone ones and leather ones are somewhat disappointing when it comes to delivering......also for those that can max out the units with silicone and or leather will not do so with the steel ones.
