MarksFantasyGirl -> Addicted. (1/13/2009 8:42:17 PM)

Right before drifting off to la-la land last night, I was thinking of some things that I would like to confess.  They say the first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem.  So here is mine.

Hello.  My name is Fannie.  I am addicted to late night cartoons, Chamomile tea, guitar players, the internet, text messaging, taking pictures of myself on my cell phone, Nip/Tuck, women with southern accents, and men with British accents.

It has been almost 23 hours since my last cartoon and tea, 4 hours since I saw my last guitar, 24 hours since my last picture of myself, one hour since my last text message, 7 days since my last episode of Nip/Tuck (however, I AM sitting here watching a show I don't care about, waiting for it to come on), 5 days since I last heard a sweet, southern girl,  and I don't even remember the last time I heard a British accent.

Whew.... Sure feels good to get that off my chest!!  :-D

Anyone else care to share?

Disclaimer:
This thread is just to be in good fun.  Don't take it too seriously. And don't take ME too seriously. Thank you.

Fannie, my accent is faint, although definitely Southern when it spills out there.  I'd whisper you sweet nothings, but I don't wanna send you off the wagon!  [:D]

Damn.  I should have restated that part I think.  [;)]

MissMorrigan -> RE: Addicted. (1/14/2009 12:26:01 AM)

My name is Morrie and I am addicted to crunchy peanut butter and lemon curd.

When I wake up in the mornings my voice is considerably deeper than at other times and I sound like a man - I also happen to be English.

Want phone sex, Fannie?

MadAxeman -> RE: Addicted. (1/14/2009 1:18:27 AM)

Conference call Morrie?
I'd just like to point out that there is no such thing as a 'British' accent.
Much the same way as you couldn't compare a Bronx accent with a southern one in the states. There are many types of accent, even within the same region.
In this country your class will affect your speaking voice more than the locale.

MissMorrigan -> RE: Addicted. (1/14/2009 1:28:51 AM)

Only if you're paying.

You're right, Mad, hence 'English' and not British. My formative years were in South East London, yet privately educated in a convent in West Sussex, so while my family were/are considered middle class and, due to my schooling, I have a good speaking voice (what some may consider a 'plummy' accent), but that underlying 'commoner' is still there.

MadAxeman -> RE: Addicted. (1/14/2009 1:38:59 AM)

I'm similar. Educated scum. Bob Hoskins meets Alan Rickman.

MissMorrigan -> RE: Addicted. (1/14/2009 1:49:28 AM)

That's settled. I'm paying.

Yep I get told asked quite a lot if I am from the UK....especially when on the phone.  Mind you I do still say 'lovely' a lot on the phone which I picked up in London a long time ago.

MadAxeman -> RE: Addicted. (1/14/2009 2:03:06 AM)

Absolutely.
That's for Morrie and Wanders.

Dnomyar -> RE: Addicted. (1/14/2009 3:38:33 AM)

Oh no!. M.M went to covent school. I guess that means that Im not getting Nun.  Gimp I was once like you. After getting many rejections I also ended up here on the forum.

MadAxeman -> RE: Addicted. (1/14/2009 3:58:58 AM)

Without rejection Ray wouldn't have any conversation
