Hey Ya'll,

So, I have been tossing around the idea with a few people and have been wondering if there is any real interest out there for the type of party I am thinking of hosting.

This is not a play party, but more like a pure romance or sex toy party (you know the women only ones) were all the girls gather round the huge box of dildos eat chocolate and taste lube while giggling. But instead of just women, I am thinking Mistresses and Masters and their respective submissives. Instead of just dildos what about sex toys and BDSM gear.... complete with demonstrations and test runs of equipment?

At the end you can place confidential orders for the products you like.

I can't remember how many times I have thought... "Gee, I wish I could see and or test this toy before I spend X amount on it."

I don't think there is anything like this out there... at least not that I have run across. I think it would be a nice change from munches and play parties. Kinda combine the two.

Opinions?

Sounds like a fair idea and it might be a lucrative business, if you went about it right.

I think it could be quite profitable. You would need a place to start recruiting customers. If you have a reasonable local scene that would be a good place and from there word would spread. I agree that you often think about how nice it would be to physically see some what you are purchasing before you purchase it.

I know of a person here doing it.  I have no idea how well it's going for her.  We do have a couple toy stores here in the metro detroit area.

In the UK, some of the sex toy stores - larger ones like harmony and anne summers - in their major stores already have toys out on display on a central area so you can 'try' them, feel the weight, buzz, shape, texture etc.
 
It's a good idea, but I don't see the difference in something like that to a general fetish market or fair.  At least not in the UK.

I think it's a good idea. I know that whenever I go to one of those lingerie/sex toy parties I am always disappointed at the lack of real quality toys. The only problem that I see is that it would make it a bit more difficult for your host/hostesses to come up with invitees. At your run of the mill sex toy party you can pretty much invite anyone. With an emphasis on BDSM oriented toys it may make who you wish to invite a bit more of a touchy decision, so the pool will be smaller.

Hey Eponastar,  advertise in your local email groups, the local community, people you know,  , lots of stock that is basically non re-saleable once its opened or tried on, (especially toys, lingerie and leather). a lot of storage space, you will be packing and unpacking merchandise a LOT, you will also need some kind of display system.
Think about sexy fun games you can play, gifts and incentives for a party holder.  a reliable supplier, a reliable manner of transport. Its not cheap, and your personal safety should be paramount, going to someones private abode can be dangerous if you dont know them(personal experience). You also need a POS(point of sale) payment kit if you want to take credit/debit cards
Ive done vanilla sextoy parties and fetish toy parties and enjoyed it hugely, but its a lot of work, large layout financially and time consuming.

I can see good points and bad points- more good points for people who don't live in cities where good equipment and demos are easily available and less experienced.

I went to a party like this, here is a link to the company who the hostess used. 

Though most of the stuff was very basic and perhaps suited more for people just entering the lifesytle.

I have no idea how much stuff was sold at the party, but like most partyies of this kind.  The hostess got free gifts depending on the dollar amount sold.  That party was 2 years ago and they have not had another one (or at least did not invite us back)

I quick interent search will show you dozens of comapanies that do this sort of thing.  Though how deep they get into the BDSM realm I'm not sure

I can see two kinds of parties.  One for experienced lifestylers, and the other for the merely curious.

The second type would be fun.  Perhaps a series of hourlong demos on individual subjects like spanking, nipple play, bondage, etc.  All bottoms retain at least a thong.  And afterward merchandise up for sale.

You may wish to use a course on Alternative Sexuality at the local free university as a way to establish a toehold in the vanilla-but-kink-curious community.

we used to have a lovely game of passing buzzing dildos between the knees. Ive laughed till I nearly gave myself a hernia.
