SirKenin -> What a good deal (1/6/2006 11:49:56 PM)

I am very happy with this deal.. Let Me tell you about it. I walked into one of My suppliers the other day to pick up some computer parts for an order and I saw a couple of CRTs sitting there, which is more or less akin to seeing a Model T driving down the Interstate. I sat chatting with the warehouse manager (these guys are all Chinese. In case you did not know, the Chinese dominate the computer market something fierce) about pricing. Nicest guy in the world and very eager to chat. Anyways, it turns out they were not very expensive (about 60 USD for a refurbished 17" + 7% GST would be My wholesale cost) and I was going to pick one up for one of My servers here in the office.

Anyways, to cut to the chase and to why I am so excited. I decided to walk away from the CRT and wait for something better to come along. As I was out at the loading dock loading up My products the manager is chatting with Me as he helps Me load the car. He brings up that he won a 15" TFT monitor in the company draw at Christmas and he was looking to sell it and asked if I would be interested in buying it from him. It was brand new in the box. My normal cost on that particular screen is $162 USD + 7% GST. He said he would let Me have it for $146USD. I did not have the cash on Me as I left My wallet and thus the rest of My funds at home (I was driving without My driver's license... oops), so the accounting department actually gave Me credit so I could buy it from him!! (Try getting credit out of the Chinese. It is even worse trying to get it out of a Chinese supplier. They are extremely cautious who they loan money to, especially with profit margins being razor thin as they are).

The best part? It turned out to be $136 + GST, and I get any GST I pay for computer related products refunded to Me by the government. I just got a brand spanking new flat panel with full three year warranty for $136. The manager gave Me his word that he would personally take care of the warranty in house for the entire duration of the warranty. It works awesome too. It is just perfect for what I needed it for.

It is awesome saving the $30 as well. I do not know if anyone here appreciates the signficance of that. A computer supplier expects you to get excited when they save you $10.00 on a $1000 order. That is no joke. So saving $30 on one screen is almost unheard of.

Ha!! Woohoo!!!

lol

SirKenin -> RE: What a good deal (1/7/2006 5:21:26 PM)

I tried bargaining for a dinner at the Mandarin. Do you think I was pushing it just a little too far?? [8D]

Heh. I went back down the next day with the money order as I had forgotten to pick up some RAM while I was there and I added another floppy drive (I stole the one out of the order because it looked much cooler in My case than My old one). The guy's face lit up when he saw Me. you should have seen him. He was grinning from ear to ear. lol.

So yeah. Now I am reconfiguring the network. It has been a lot of work. Two of the computers and two of the servers had to be rebuilt and a couple that need to be reconfigured. What a nightmare. I also bought Myself another DVD RAM drive because I wanted one in black and I needed to top up an order to make the minimum.

So lots of toys and lots of work. Fun though.... [:)]

Nobody else cares about My good deal?? *sob* [:(] I think I am going to cry. They care about nonsense like pierced clits, kissing tests and bad spelling, but nobody cares about My good deal.

Nobody loves Me... Boohoo. Now I am going to go sit in the corner and feel sorry for Myself. Look what you have done to Me. I hope you are happy. [:'(]

Hahaha. j/k

I care, man! YOU got a smoking deal there, and I know just how that feels. Yesterday, I was at a small market, about to commit to purchasing a gallon of 1% milk in a plastic jug at the agreed on price of $2.99. Before I got the front of the line, I found MYSELF thinking: "I need to go to WalMart later today, and this product might be available there for a substantial savings." I pondered this a bit, then removed MYSELF from the queue, thus cancelling the proposed transaction. Sure enough, at WalMart later the same day, I found the exact same product selling for $2.69. Even better, the plastic jug had a threaded cap rather than the press-on cap at the other store.

So...get out of that corner, stop feeling sorry for YOURSELF, and kick up YOUR heels! LIfe is good![:D]

Ok..... But can I bring My coloring book and crayons with Me? And I need milk too. I go through a gallon in two days. Maybe I should stop by Walmart too... [8D]

You can bring whatever you want, but if you're not willing to share your crayons, then we will indeed need to go to the hypermarket so I can get some of my own. And, honestly, can one ever have too much milk?

girl4you2 -> RE: What a good deal (1/8/2006 1:58:23 PM)

i got some whopper blue light specials today. tube socks were 2 for $2.49! can you believe that? i got 4 packs. they also had cat litter on special for $.89. i found two dented cans of beans (that 7 layered dip mix really is a winner at parties) and i got the cashier to give me $.10 off each one! i came home dancing the happy dance of a bargain shopper. woohoo k-mart!!!

Chaingang -> RE: What a good deal (1/8/2006 5:16:05 PM)

Can't y'all at least shop at Costco where the workers get something like $12 an hour up and bennies?

why do you think i avoid wal-mart? i'm a costco shopper all the way. i rarely go elsewhere other than to get a few things to supplement, especially since the grocery workers union strike around here several years ago. costco is also politically aligned with my stars. oh yeah, they have tube socks, too. i also use biodegradable cat litter made from pine shavings that you can put out as mulch (ya takes out the lumps first), but they don't carry that yet at costco; petsmart for litter and food. wonder where that store fits? isn't this great airing our shopping lists on collarme?

We don't have Costco here where I live. I hate WalMart for, among other things, their anti-union activities. Still, a man's gotta shop where a man's gotta shop.

Geez...when I joined collarme, I didn't exactly plan on talking about this stuff. Kinda personal, ya know?

SirKenin -> RE: What a good deal (1/8/2006 8:18:49 PM)

lol. I shop wherever I get the best deal. There is a limit though. I do not chew up $5.00 in gas so I can save $2.00 on steaks. That does not make any sense, although many people do it. It is like the dummies that travel to the complete opposite end of the city so they can save a couple of pennies a gallon on gas. hehe. They chew up their savings and then some just getting there.

The only thing I noticed is that I travel the exact same route every time I go to the same place. It is kind of wierd.

inquiring minds always wonder what a man shops for, Bob. dang, can you try to catch my eyeballs when they roll by?

now, when i go shopping, i don't wear panties, i wear a skirt and alluring top, stockings, garter belt, and high heels.

i found the cutest little gold handcuffs charm yesterday, and tonight got some LV padlock pave earrings. now that's how a girl shops and tells. it's even bdsm related.

DesertRat -> RE: What a good deal (1/8/2006 9:42:20 PM)

Dang girl! I want to take YOU shopping![:-]

Naturally, I get manly guy stuff. Boxers, chainsaws...stuff like that.

Bob

[Laugh] Be careful with those. I used to have a nice handcuff pin I wore on my collar. Then one day I noticed an attractive woman eyeing them while we were standing in the Union Square station. I smiled back. She approached me and said, "Hi, what precinct are you with? I'm in vice in the 14th?

I was a bit more shy then so, fortunately, my train arrived at that moment.

thank you for that advice. i'd not thought of it that way, but i can so see that happening.

what's interesting is that these are charms for a very popular line with adolescent, teen, and young adult girls, too (sooo juicy). i also just cracked up laughing so loud at your post that i woke the cats. life is good.
