Daddy is going out tonite to the dance. I have to be here at home. I have to work tomorrow, all day long. A very very long day without being able to talk to my Daddy.

That is so hard.

What can I do to keep myself attending to my work all day?

I can take care of my patients as if Daddy were watching. I can take care of them in a way that makes Daddy proud. I can take care of them in a way that enables me to come home and say "Daddy, today I did my very best for you." So, that is what Im going to do. Im going to get a good night's sleep tonite after I read a story to the little one. Then Im going to get up on time and eat a good breakfast and kiss my spoon before the first bite and lick it clean after the last.

When Daddy was still far away he trained me: "Before you eat your morning porridge, give your shiny little spoon my kiss. Give your little spoon my kiss to thank it for feeding you for me and keeping you strong while I am still far away." And Daddy likes me to be tidy.

And then Im going to go to work and be good for Daddy. Im going to be busy and good for him. And then when I come home, I can say "Daddy, I did a good job today and it was all for you."

Im kind of sad because Daddy is still not near but Im very happy because now he is almost never far away. And when those scary times come when he seems very far away indeed I only have to close my eyes and breathe; breathe in the big warm Daddy smell of his shirt and his big strong arms will close around me and then he won't be far away. I can almost do it every time now and Daddy says that if I practice I'll get better. It helps to have a Daddy who is magical.

Little tiny girls can be mixed up sometimes but thats okay if they have a
Very Special Daddy.
