Only if your hard drive is nearly full.
BTW I've had the same problem intermittently. The situation sometimes seems to be that the paste operation takes a very long time to succeed and other times it clearly doesn't seem to work at all. I have somewhat better luck with the popup windows from clicking reply or quote over using the quick reply box at the bottom of the page.
I almost always use the reply or quote pop up windows, so I haven't been in a position to notice any difference.
I did try right clicking in the text field to see if I could get my delete button to work earlier tonight, and it didn't help. I once again had to use the back-button to delete one character at a time. I didn't test the cut & paste application using the right-click in text field technique, however.
