with the exception of wax, I have not had that pleasure yet, so, its hard to say yes or no

Status: offline 		Fire play was something in November, i thought would be excellent to play on NYE with my Sir as part of my instruction to provide sensations that maybe pleasurable to him.

From the small amount of research i got, from posting and reading here. I realised, my time frame to learn was too small. So didnt get to play. Even had i enough time, there was a total fire ban that night also, so the bloody weather would of curtailed it.

So starting small, i went in search of flash cotton. The majic shop was out of stock! Bugger!

Next i went in search of a demo. Here, i will have to wait till March and the leather festival to see a demo.

Could do the wax stuff, but i want fire dammit! real flames!

A sparkler was the nearest ive gotten
But one day soon, im gonna be doing this with skill. Its my NYE resolution to learn.

edited to add. If ANYONE in the melbourne area of australia, knows of a demo i might come to learn from, please message me!!!!

Status: offline 		You worry me, talmar. Fire play is only torture if it's done wrong.

Done right, it's flashy (no pun) and dramatic, but there should be less heat than a warm marshmallow.

Status: offline 		There are many forms of heat play. Fire cupping for example can be intense. Or say branding...that can be intense torture.

Status: offline 		They aren't my fave types of play, certainly NOT cold play. But it can be one of the more innocuous types of play to enjoy- slipping ice cubes down someones blouse or against their wrist.

I enjoy fireplay more as a top than as a bottom.

I enjoy mind fuck scenes and one I am yet to do is to set a submissive's penis on fire. My current flatmate has done this to himself and has shown me how to do it in a safe and sane manner. As a setting for a mind fuck scene, perhaps a boy with a casteration fantasy maybe, I think the premise is hot (pun intended ;).

Status: offline 		Fire play is quite an impressive thing to watch. There's an M/s couple at our local dungeon that frequently does breathtaking fireplay scenes.

I have an interest in it but recognize that it is not something to be taken lightly. I attended a class on intro to fireplay once and the safety concerns addressed were overwhelming...you must know what you are doing and have done your homework/research/practiced A LOT!

Flash cotton is neat but it's absolutely imperitive that it be bone dry or you will get burned.

I have done lots of fire play with my Master and never had more than a mild sunburn feeling afterwards. We use the alcohol directly on my skin and ingnited by his alcohol coated hand touching a candle and then carrying the fire to my body method. I have even done fire play on someone else in my one and only ropping scene.
It is not in the least torture to me or the person I set on fire. As long as you have proper things like wet towels around to put out the fire if it gets out of hand it's pretty harmless.
Branding in my opinion is not fire play even though you use fire to heat the iron. To me branding stands on it's own feet separately.

In our local dungeon I'd say I've seen fire play happen around 10 times in the past 6 months other than our fire play. Overall it's not common, but it does appeal to lots of people.
