I only become nervous in two situations - when work/social avenues have brought me into contact with people who have been drinking alcohol, I guess that's because people who are under the influence are not in full control over their actions and therefore unpredictable, and the other situation is when I engage a submissive that's considerably far more experienced than myself in areas such as bondage, for instance, for I know they are critiquing me. Constructive criticisms I can take and do accept, I want to continue learning as much as they would like to keep teaching me, it's the cocky ones that like to issue challenges... Usually a good gag and binding their forearms to their biceps and calves to the backs of their thighs so that they're forced to walk like a doggy on their elbows and knees cures that cockiness.

Hi, Miss

I have a tendency to be apprehensive around drunks too. As I severly limit my own alcohol use, I expect, or at least hope, they would be doing the same. When the bottle takes over control, people have been known to be seriously injured and often dead. So, yes. That can do it.

Also, when I was early into the scene as a top, I had played exclusively with more experienced bottoms and submissives, mainly to learn and gain experience. as, I nervous? I would say perhaps more self-concious... I knew I was being scrutinized. Though in fact, I looked forward to the in-scene comments (if kept to a minimum) and after-scene discussion. Those were days of much discovery and self-discovery. Nowadays, I am very open to the idea of finding a very experienced sub/slave to use or play with. Perhaps, I would get back some nervousness... but I would still perhaps learn a few things. I love learning and I can deal with the nervousness, if it comes.

Thanks,

 I got nervous  ONCE....My spirit guides told me something was wrong. The guy turned out to be a deranged lunatic and had an explosive episode while here over an insignificant event. I talked to his mother and she confirmed that he is severely mentally unstable and attacks her constantly.  So trust that gut instinct...it is often right.

Other times, I get slight jitters but my guides come in and take me over..THEY handle the event and I am just a vehicle that they drive. span.jajahWrapper { font-size:1em; color:#B11196; text-decoration:underline; } a.jajahLink { color:#000000; text-decoration:none; } span.jajahInLink:hover { background-color:#B11196; }

I have a way I try to live. Trusting my Gut feelings. Your heart will lie to you. Your mind will lie to you.  We all know our pussies and cocks lie to us. Our gut on the other hand has nothing to gain or lose so I listen to my gut feelings.

I was just curious.  Do Doms get nervous when they are with a new (and less experienced) submissive partner?

Beforehand: of course, they want it to go well, they want to make sure they've done what's needed to prepare.

During; probably, but are they going to let it show? Of course not!

Afterwards: is (s)he going to call or return the call, did they get it right. were they too eager, too laid back?

Dom(me)s are people too! We're not a breed apart. Some of us have even been subs once. Some may be again.

Hello LL, thank you for your comments. Bar the last three submissives, most have been considerably more experienced than myself in some areas and I enjoy the exchange of ideas, the new techniques learned etc... you're right insofar as feeling self conscious and I'm not sure from where this stems, it's not a lack of self-confidence and that may sound odd. I only feel this way when I am being scrutinised during a bdsm exchange and it could well be that I am misreading nervousness for something else. I don't think my discoveries/self-discovery will ever cease, I certainly hope not and I enjoy that 'come down' time after a scene where we can have a discussion, even if it's to hear, "Those were some rather 'interesting' techniques you used, I haven't come across ones quite like that before, but they worked!" usually in connection with bondage [:D]
