Has anyone seen any of the batch of movies slated for the Oscars?  After hearing such good buzz and seeing it win so many awards at the Golden Globes, we went to see Slumdog Millionaire tonight.  It was remarkable, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good, solid movie with a strong story and strong emotional tones.

I'd also love to see Kate Winslet's Revolutionary Road, though I hear it's a weep-fest.  I adore her.

I have The Dark Night here at home to be watched sometime soon to see if Heath Ledger does, indeed, deserve to win an award for his performance.  Just about everyone thinks he does - I'm so looking forward to seeing this one.

Anyone have any thoughts on the movie awards season?

So far I've seen The Wrestler, Milk, Doubt, Dark Knight and Wall-E (there's a pretty good chance that it may be up for best picture). This week I'm seeing Slumdog Millionaire, Frost Nixon and Gran Torino. After that I'll still need to see Revolutionary Road, The Curious Case of benjamin Button and The Reader

You're way ahead of me!  lol  How did you like The Wrestler?  And I forgot I saw Wall-E and that it would probably be a nominated film also.

I'm going to see "The Wrestler," "The Reader," and "Revolutionary Road" definitely.  I'm currently reading "The Reader" and it's amazing.

We saw "Gran Torino" last weekend and both absolutely loved it.  It was way funnier and sadder than I was expecting.  Clint is 78 now and I know he won't be around forever.  I'm missing him before he's even goine.............luci

I've seen Revolutionary Road (I found it more depressing than sad, but excellent!), The Reader, Milk, and what I consider to be the absoulute best of the bunch, Doubt.  Still need to see Gran Torino, Benjamin Button and The Wrestler.

The Wrestler was brilliant and ridiculously hard to watch. I never intend to see it again, but wow was it good.

I'll put The Reader on my list of books to read, thanks!

I saw the Gran Torino trailer last night and it looked incredible.  I know the reviews haven't been the greatest, but this may be his last big role, you never know.  I have to see that one too.

Incredibly depressing, very graphic, and very realistic.

We watched SM Saturday evening. My girlfriend thought it was one of the best flicks she has seen in a long time but I could barely stay awake.

I saw Taken about 6 months ago. Very good movie. I think it comes out sometime this month.
