i recently had the pleasure of going back to the dungeon where i had my first trip to sub space. having spent nearly a year and a half down the path and furthering my limits, trying new things. i am wondering if any of you have had the same opportunity to do the same. i had many different feelings on reflecting on the path i had embarked on, seeing all of the Friends i had made there playing on the same equipment. how did you feel when you went back used the same equipment seen the same folks. was it easier to get back to space or were you reminiscing on the past time reviling in the memory of the day your journey started.

Since the parties of most of the community that I "grew up in" (in NC) was contained in homes, this is an unlikely scenario. Over the years, several 'public' dungeons came and went; nothing stayed more than two years. In my community now (in AZ), the local dungeon/group just celebrated 20 years. I don't think they had a dungeon all that time, but its still pretty impressive.

I was back in the first place with him just the other day. I was amazed at how much we had changed and how much the relationship had evolved in seven months. It was a great feeling. Those thoughts were definitely a result of being back there.

i don't get to subspace by reminicing; i get there by where i am 'in the moment' and that is determined by my emotional/mental/physical state of being...

i can be with the same person, in the same place, doing the same exact thing that took me to subspace before, but it's not a guarantee that i'll achieve subspace again; hell, as a matter of fact, it's not even a guarantee that i'll even be enjoying myself, so no, for me, that isn't going to have anything to do with what takes me there again.

Mine was in my freshman dorm room, so that's fairly unlikely. When I have on rare occasion "gone back home" I tend to either feel a yummy warmth of memory, or a detached bemused perspective. When I returned to MD over the holidays this year I realized that while it will be a part of who I am, it's not my home town anymore. We have both moved on. There's a bitter sweetness to that. But since my partner is here with me in Austin, it's more sweet than bitter.
