I am due a new cell phone this month from my provider and right now i have a pink razor and don't dislike it and don't feel a love bond with it, it does the job.  I don't use my cell for all that fun stuff like browsing or such, i have very basic service and usually just use it for texting and talking, contacts and my calendar.  While i would love a black berry or iphone, the extra cost for the extra services would kill me monthly.  So what cell phones do you find the best and why?  I am tempted by the LG Shine cause i love the look, but have heard people love it or hate it.

Thanks.

angel

have not heard anything about that model LG, but i will say that all the LG's myself or my family has used were 50/50%.  some are great and some suck!  i will say look out for the slide type phones.  i always have had good luck with motorolas and nokias!

currently i have a blackberry and i am addicted!  texting is so easy on my blackberry!

I've got a great little Motorola (V195? something like that).  I dont know if it has a calendar function (I have to need of that), but I very specifically asked for a phone WITHOUT all the bells and whistles.. I have a digital camera and an MP3 player, so I didnt need the redundancy of them on a phone.  I've dropped this poor phone several times.. the body is coated with a rubberized substance, so it has taken the drops REALLY well.  It's capable of IMing (and I presume web access) but I chose not to activate those features.

I'm an engineer type and a geek, and I love Palm PDAs.  Right now I have a Treo, and it contains my life.  Phone, texting, Web access, appointments, address book, and Word/Excel docs.  Also a camera and a photo album.

I really liked my Treo, and had my life on it, too.  Then I switched to a Blackberry, and while I like it, the calendar feature sucks.

I had a Razr for a basic cell phone and liked it just fine.

I have an LG Trax which I love.  It is the best phone I've ever had.

All my cellphones have been Sanyo. Good phones that last a long time.

i love my blackberry curve and can not be separated from it.

Irishknight -> RE: Favorite cell phones (1/19/2009 11:40:46 PM)

I use my phone as a phone and a camera.  I also live in an area that has very weak signal so I need one that kicksbutt in the power department.  That usually causes me to end up with phones that most people hate.  Of course, those phones they love so much never work in my yard.  Mine always does.

I have a Motorola Razr Maxx Ve. It was the only one I found that didnt have tiny buttons (I have long nails - tiny buttons are NOT helpful!)  My brain is on my Palm Tungsten E2 and my sherpa is a Garmin Nuvi. I really need to lighten up  my purse !

The plan is to combine the three on a Blackberry Storm in the spring. I loves me my gadgets - I'm a quasi-geekette :)

Hey, thanks to everyone who has offered their input on the actually topic instead of attempting to derail it into random bantering, it is appreciated. I am looking into the ones offered up.  And yes lol long nails do make a difference, i do better with larger flat keys than raised smaller ones.  I also want one with a higher ring tone volume option, my signature ring tone isn't very loud, so an option to go louder would be cool.  I am still tempted on the black berry's but know myself to know if i have one i will want to use all the fun stuff lol which means paying monthly for services i don't really and haven't really needed.  You know its that once i start using it, it will become that omg i can't live without it idea and what i don't have i won't miss lol.

Has anyone heard of a website where you can create your own ringtone?

Again, i appreciate everyone who offered up their choices and knowledge of their phones.

angel

Here you go... upload your songs, select how long you want the ringtone, and then send it to your phone- all for free unless the phone company charges for the text/data.
