Vaughner -> Trivia D vs. s Game II (1/18/2009 1:02:23 PM)

Alright as promised its time for Game 2 of the Dominant versus submissive random trivia challenge.

For those who did not partake in the last game I shall explain the rules.

I will post a random trivia question from any subject that pops into my head.  All players are on the honor system not to cheat by using Wikipedia, Google, etc.  Particularly difficult questions will be given an expiration time so as not to slow up the game.

A correct answer will net your team 2 points.
An answer which is correct but preempts the sought answer will net your team three points.  That is if text and lesson commonly names one thing but you are able to name one before it.  For example if I ask who first used gunpowder as a weapon, an answer of "The Chinese" would net 2 points.  However if you are familiar with a little and often ignored bamboo "pipe bomb" used by the Koreans while the Chinese were still using gunpowder for fireworks, you would score 3 points.

When you post an answer, for the sake of easy score-keeping please list if you are a Dominant or submissive.  If you are a switch please indicate which of the two teams you wish to give your points to.  Once you have chosen a team, you are stuck with that team.  No flip-flopping because your team is losing.

Alright now that we have the rules cleared up here comes the first question.

Who wrote the song "My Old Kentucky Home"?

Next Question:
According to Dirty Harry the .44 Magnum is the most powerful handgun in the world.  At 900fpE this has not been true for many years.
What is the current most powerful handgun in the world?  (Just in case there are any firearms experts reading this this question does not include handguns that fire rifle rounds, such as the Magum Research BFR)

girlygurl -> RE: Trivia D vs. s Game II (1/18/2009 2:52:08 PM)

Would it be the 500 s&w magnum revolver?

wulfgarw -> RE: Trivia D vs. s Game II (1/18/2009 2:56:26 PM)

I believe the .500 S&W has that now carries honor for specifically designed handgun rounds.

Dom.

H2SO4 is sulfuric acid. submissive, please

Going back to your coke question, after I saw the answer i checked it on snopes, and they say Coke has not contained any cocaine products since 1929.

GimpinDenial -> RE: Trivia D vs. s Game II (1/18/2009 4:10:51 PM)

My apologies (I forgot) let it go to the D's..(they need some points...lol)
EDIT:
Rose, they extract the cocaine from the leaves, and that is why the DEA has to be there....

In what year was Bob Marley (the singer) born?

Roselaure -> RE: Trivia D vs. s Game II (1/18/2009 4:25:12 PM)

I am such a huge geek, but Coca Cola does not extract the coca leaf derivative (which contains no cocaine).  According to wikipedia the extraction is done by a New Jersey company, who sells the totally cocaine free derivative to Coca Cola, and the cocaine to a pharmaceutical manufacturer.  So there would be no reason to have a DEA agent at the Coca Cola manufacturing plant.

Coca Cola uses the leaves, which themselves are still a controlled substance even after extraction.  Hence on-site DEA

Another bit of trivia is the syrup used to make coca cola is classified as a corrosive substance thus when transporting, it is labeled appropriately.

That is because the syrup containts phosphoric acid, necessary because otherwise the amount of sugar would make the drink too sickly sweet to drink.

Rooster Cogburn is incorrect
