Ahhh FourQ..you missed one of my favorites:

Mad as a Hatter : In Alice in Wonderland (1865), Lewis Carroll selected a hat maker as the demented host for the tea party. Hatters of the time commonly exhibited slurred speech, tremors, irritability, shyness, depression and other neurological symptoms; hence the expression "mad as a hatter."  Carroll was probably unaware that the hatter's disabilities were symptoms of mercury poisoning. In the mid-1800s hat makers used hot solutions of mercuric nitrate to shape wool felt hats. They typically worked in poorly ventilated rooms leading to chronic occupational exposure to mercury and neurological damage that followed.

Missed one?  I've missed hundreds! lol
Just thought I'd keep with the theme.  I'm staggered to think how much of my head is filled with this useless stuff.
It's one of the down sides of having a visual photographic memory.

Not photographic here but to say I pick up more odd crap in my readings and my mnd refuses to let go of it. If I ever develop Alzheimer's I am going to confuse more than just myself spouting off some of this stuff.

My mate's mother had Alzheimer's.  Ultimately she was admitted to St. George's in Morpeth.
I stayed by the car having a smoke as J and his dad went in to visit her.  J came out in fits of hysterics unable to speak for a short while.  He'd been laughing for a while before coming out.  Something had certainly tickled him.

When questioned, all he said was "One of the funniest things I've ever seen is when you get God, Jesus and Mary in the same ward!".  I can only imagine.
