ORIGINAL: MistresseLotus I had the oddest realization when I looked at Bush's face as he sat behind Obama during his inaugral speech.. it felt like the nation had been exorcised and this demon has now been removed and sent back from wence he came. The only grand finish I would have liked to see is all million+ spectators throw their shoes at Bush. I would've liked the see the bugger duck 2 million shoes! And if someone from another country were to show the same level of disrespect for President Obama? The shoe-throwing incident was not a show of dislike/disrespect/hatred for Bush, the Man, it was about dislike/disrespect/hatred for Bush, the President and his embodiment as the symbol of our nation. I'll just bet you loved the "poet's" speech too...about how we look forward to the day when "brown is still around, when yellow is mellow, when black no longer has to be in back, and when white concedes what's right" since the only color that the poet had a problem with...on this day when we put an African-American into office...was white.
