So I made the leap and changed my profile to say 'Switch' instead of 'Submissive' (as well as giving real information instead of that silly little poem I had up before).

I suppose it's something I've been 'meaning' to do but haven't gotten around to [:D] either way, it's a change can be made. Which brings me to my question.

How many times have you had profile changes? I'm talking changes like... adding (or subtracting) a partner, changing the 'orientation' or thinks like that.

(it's not a terribly important question, or one that really belongs in any other topic that I could think of... so I stuck it here)

I've not changed mine often. In fact, I'm HORRIBLE at that kind of thing.  I've been better at it since The Pirate became such a vital part of my life, though...

I have changed my profile seven times over the course of being active in the forums.
Probably be changing my primary photo soon also.

I'm not sure where the sheepish aspect comes into it, Aravain. I've had one orientation alteration in 28 years and largely due to not fully understanding my own kinks prior to the change whereas these days, people seem more accepting of dominants exploring a masochistic side to themselves, also, I had never before experienced S & M play from a top's perspective... it was only when I did that I finally discovered what drives me.

As for partner changes, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention... Get outta here, Frank! Our profiles are there to be updated according to our current status. I'm long overdue an update re. profile photos (gone is the long curly hair), and of course, interests do tend to change over the years.

I also made the submissive to switch er umm switch?  My status is also not available as I'm not looking for a partner, turns out I had married the right one the first time...  So we're going for a 2nd time around.

I made the same change after a series of events opened my eyes to the realization that labeling myself submissive was so far off base.  I now use switch (more dominant with a bit bottom/service sub throw in for good measure) to describe my orientation. 
 
What I find misleading is when someone doesn't take the time to change things like age, especially if 4-5 years have gone by, or "forgets" to mention they're in a relationship.
 
People change...circumstances change...heck, I'd be concerned if there was no change whatsoever in a person (yes, I've met a few like that).
 
For the record...content change, 3 or 4 times....photo change, 3 or 4 times.....orientation change, 3....age change, only 1 because I've only been here for a year.

A picture change may happen soon because I'm tired of the ones I have posted now.
I'm just a work in progress.

I started as submissive, changed to switch and then Domme all in about the first 18 months. Since then there have been no changes. I felt a bit sheepish changing at first but.... sometimes it takes time to really know oneself.

I've never changed My orientation--that's--unthinkable--I've noted a potential partner one other time 4 years ago, Ive rewritten My profile three times, just to get it quite right, Ive never changed My interests--and yes I have changed who I am here, once--left for a good while and came back.

Muahaha Greedy, you're lubable, girl! Seriously, I dyed it this morning and I got caught up in a phonecall just when I should have been washing it out! So the result is - too bloody dark. Alas, I've been going grey for years - a lot of men went limp then - and with me being so ill over xmas/new year, I had an ugly attack of the roots - two inches' worth. The moment a few washes have lightened it a little and I'm no longer looking like a chubby version of Groucho Marx, I'll supply a few (of the gorgeous boy, too who, no matter what time of the day/night it is, is proper gorg and makes ma toes curl with lust). I wish I could say I was still a natural redhead, I'd be telling porkies, chica lol

You're so right, poenkitten (by the way, I thoroughly enjoy reading your posts in the forums as they're erudite, down to earth and ooze sensibility/common sense/insightfulness.

When I first started out, I was wet behind the ears, knew nothing of myself or relationships (what sixteen year old does?) and my first D/s relationship was awful despite the fact I did learn a lot regarding S & M. The damage from that relationship stayed with me for many years (even into my early 30s) and I fell into the pitfall of exploring my then perceived masochistic sexuality via submissiveness - I had no comprehension that I was actually misleading others, along with myself - all unwittingly. The awakening I experienced when I had the opportunity to top in an S & M session changed my life and I finally had a sound understanding of who I was and what I wanted to explore, experience, develop and achieve. My orientation will never change and I can honestly not say the same for my interests.

I've made changes and adjustments to my profile several times since being a part of this site. It has seen a couple changes in my relationship status and that'll happen again when I do get involved with another person. As for changing my orientation, that will never happen, even when a few people here wishes it would....LOL

I've made a few changes in mine over the course of time that I've been on CM - primarily changing the orientation setting from "submissive" to "switch" .... and making it plain that I don't take part in power exchange of any sort any longer.  I'm in desperate need of an update to my photos - I simply don't Have that many, since I'm usually the one taking the pictures rather than being in them.  (I"m hoping there are at least one or two good ones from GT & Pirate's wedding in a couple of weeks, so I can use that as an "updated" photo lol.)

I never change my orientation, obviously, but I tinker with the words ALL the time.  I mess with the "real" profile that I have in word, too.

Tinkering with and updating a profile is much more possible than with an obituary.
