Im sure there must be a lot of people have one specific thing, maybe an item of clothing or a specific thought or maybe some personal ritual, that sends you spinning it to your happy headspace when youre out of bed. Do you do it to brighten up mundane life (when youre at work or shopping or driving.)? Does it make life a little sunnier or is it just frustrating that youre stranded without a partner (or a toy!)? Thanks

partner? no.
mistress yes..

one item? no...i dont do that romantic stuff....i am 100% platonic...i am not attached to any living human being on this planet.

Let's just say human biology prevents me from doing what takes me to my happy place 24 hrs a day.

Just one? I'd hope we all have lots of things we can bring to ourselves and our minds to help center and make us happy.

I have an anklet that I made from beads I used in a ritual piercing on my slave jason. he's in the military and is now stationed in Germany (the price I pay for a military/uniform fetish!). I wear it every day so that I have some of his energy with me.

I've always felt that music is very important.. Songs or certain tunes can make me cry, make me laugh or take me to a happy lace... different times in my life and different situations all have a different "soundtrack" ...

Well you know what - Im so busy with my life that I hardly have spare time to pass.
When I walk into my dungeon however, I know all the hard work has been worth it.

I gave my submissive a bottle of my perfume so that when he was thinking of me, he had a physical reminder. He loves it <s>

Certain scents do it for me... like Brut cologne (there's a history there)... woodsmoke... even Ben Gay! Music is also a biggie for me, and when I want to "go away" for awhile, I'll put on a CD, depending on "where" I want to "go" ...I particularly like the Fellowship fo the Rings soundtrack, Pirates of the Caribbean, and meditation music called "Song of the Universal Light" which I absolutely can NEVER listen to while driving my car, LOL!

Singing.

I sing. Especially if doing something mindless at work or driving. Sometimes I turn off the radio just to sing.

depends, there isnt much I have that I can carry with me all the time to put me in headspace.

Although I have found that when having had recent play, the remaining sensations, be they from recieving or giving, can last a few days, such that I end up focusing on what had happened in a state of quiet contemplation.

KatyLied -> RE: passing the time (1/12/2006 6:11:05 PM)

Years ago I had a friend who wrote poetry for me. Personal, soft words. I would print out the best and tuck them in my wallet. I called them my "rainbows". These were small things for me to hold when I felt the need.
I still smile when I think of those words.
I now have other words and other things to hold.
Everyone needs some "rainbows".

edited for grammar

Ah, didnt realize this was a general type question.

Drawing, writing, making things, thinking. I do a lot of thinking. I love being alone in my own mind.

Sometimes I will let the music take over and dance. I always have something playing in the background. Usually punk rock, alternative, or Native American, atmospheric.

Exercising.
