Any other New Yorkers getting pissed at Patterson's inability to name a replacement? He's known for weeks that he would most have to name one, as despite Hillary's lack of great people skills, she is entirely ethical and above board. As shown in her pro forma examination and immediate acceptance by the Senate.

Why is he sitting on the damn pot so long. Me? The only reason I can see for not naming Andrew Cuomo is that losing him to the Senate is a blow to the state.

He's trying to figure out a way to tax it first.

From what I've read, he's slow to name Cuomo because then he'd have to name a successor AG as well.

Dear C,
Actually, he has avery selfish incentive to name Andrew Cuomo. If AC becomes Senator, he won't run against Paterson for Governor. However, it's more likely Paterson wil name the upstate Congresswoman, about whom I kow little. I wish he would have named Congressman Steve Israel, who understadns the legislative process, has never been accused of improprieties, has longer experience and has managed to be elected as a Democrat in what had been a largely republican District, though it's now close to 50/50.
