Just be polite, but firm.  You don't have to sugar coat it, but tell him you are sorry, but there is no chemistry.  Thank him for his time and move on~~don't waste time arguing with him, it will only make it worse.  If after all that~~block him.  Best of luck to you. [;)]

Here's the problem with this statement, you're telling him that you think he's wonderful and there's some compatibility, but you're going with someone else. Which means that he's hoping that the someone else will fail and he'll keep contacting her asking how the relationship is going.

I would be polite and blunt. "Thank you, but we're not on the same path. Good luck in your search."

First of all, you are not and can not be responsibile for his feelings.  You do not own them.  Second, what everyone has said, simple and to the point.  What I have said in the past "I'm just not feeling the level of connection I had hoped for."

I always thank the Dom for being interested and then just simply explain that we are seeking different things. I do always wish them well in their search.

I think I treat a Dom I'm not into exactly the same as I would any other man I'd met, and was not going to pursue. There's a possibility of friendship if they are mature, so I don't burn any bridges.

On the other hand, if given any grief about my decisions, I am good at cutting that person off - completely.
