Hey, can anyone give me the do's and don'ts? I am fascinated by bondage period. All the different techniques...etc. As I understand, this is a form where you have no movement period. Kinda like the "ultimate" of bondage.

If this has already been discussed, forgive please. I have not found a thread on it.

Thanks in advance,
Myra

3M makes a kind of silicone tape that bonds to itself, and ultimately fuses together, but has no adhesive. It's easy to cut off later. It is good for this kind of thing if you want to try it.

While I haven't done it, I have watched demonstrations and one thing of importance to do is pad where bony area will press on bony area, so folded up washcloths between ankles and knees etc. You can mummify with duct tape by wrapping the person in cling film first.

Medical Gauze, Duct Tape, Saran Wrap, all rather fun. As a former sculptor this technique became rather fun while making a plaster casting of someone. Full body is quite possible but shouldn't be attempted till you get a good hang of it and make sure you know what you're doing. Covering the head without proper breatheways isn't something that's quickly enough undone in an emergency. You can go to an artist supply store and get special nose and/or mouth plugs which are intended in use to allow full access breathing while being casted.

Personally I think using a base coat of liquid latex before applying the wrap keeps it from causing potential adhesive burn...especially over areas like the nipples or over any open body piercings like belly button, clit, etc.

Thanks all.

MizSuz,
Loved the link.

I have never participated but a friend enjoys this activity and uses a horse tape called vet wrap which is similar to the 3M product, I think. It comes in larger widths and the rolls have more length.

I'm glad!

Vet wrap is good stuff. Be careful, though...it's easy to get on too tight.

Midear Foru-

While I do know that it is a real, deep hitting, core kink for many, for me, mummifcation is boring. too much time binding, and then so little to work with...

As a compromise, I developed this:

I start with a simple, comfortable tie- elbows tie behind the back (loosely, so it just holds them to the sides, wrists around the front(also loosely), a pad (folded towel or washcloth) at the knees and ankles, and a close, but again, loose tie at both (knee to knee, or ankle to ankle will make the bones ride on each other, so the pad is a good thing).

Blindfold- ususally the first thing, before tying.

I lay her on a polarfleece blanket, head and toes to the corners, and wrap it around, pulling a coerner over the head and feet, secureing it with some nylon straps with fatex buckles- snugged up, but not too tight.

this is the most floatly, comfortable bondage this side of an isloation tank, and it generally only requires me to be patient for twenty minutes to a half hour till she's all 'drifty'.

Then I can part bits of the blanket, and toy to my hearts content...

Stay warm,
Lawrence

I have to agree that I find the act of mummifying a girl to be rather dull...but it's once she is wrapped and helpless where I have my fun. I like to wrap a girl in colorful saran wrap from neck to toes... then slowly cut away little designs with a very sharp blade. Once the patterns are cut out, you can do all sorts of interesting sensation play: Splooshing wax onto the exposed skin so that they leave little wax patterns on her skin once the wrap is cut away... liquid latex....ice...violet wands have a bit more ZIP to em when used through a thin layer of material...you get the idea. Something I have seen, but have yet to do...is to use those little rope lights on the inside of a wrapping. Decorate her like a Christmas tree..pierced with ornaments, lights, ...little star on her head... WEG.. Come here my little ho...ho...ho.

Oh yeah...the original post.

Dos and donts (From my own book...I know, I know...risk aware...take whatever risks you are comfortable with)

DO remain hydrated. Saran wrap will make you sweat like a whore in church. drink lots of water.

DO keep a close eye on blood circulation. Like any form of bondage...there are risks when it comes to blood flow.

DONT wrap orifices that are going to be needed for life supporting tasks...(Mouth, nose....although some may choose to differ with me...a vagina is not a life-supporting orifice when not being used to support an unborn child.)

DO have a good pair of paramedic shears nearby in case of an emergency.

Thats all I can think of at this hour...

As friend once detailed to me in a recounting of one of her more interesting moments in a hospital - an ex-pro domme once let her know that an easy restraint for a drunk that was posing a danger to himself was simply to take a pillowcase, take his arms behind him and slip the pillowcase over his arms and them lay him donw on the case, with his arms to his sides - insta straightjacket sleeves!

Now if you were to combine that with other things to keep them from rolling over (the drunk was to drunk to really get himself out of it, funnily enough, the persons own weight will trap their arms most effectively.

Larger people would need a wider *sack*, so that they aren't actually laying on their arms, unless of course that sensation is the desired result.

Also, a fast easy way is a burrito mummy.

Take a sheet, or cloth, and roll them up tightly - a couple of velcro straps or strips sewn on if its a dedicated sheet, safety pins, rope, clothespins, etc will effectively seal it closed. The more fabric, the more *enclosed* it will become and the less need for super secured end - if they cant roll much , and you've done it right they won't get out. I used to do this as a kid actually - to myself , to others, and got others to do it to me from like 5 on. *grin*

You can use canvas for heavy coarse feeling, or cotton, or use some old sheets bought from a thift store, so you can cut 'em up to reveal little parts to torment. lol

As far as I know, there isn't really any safety issue with it - outside of the normal need to consider circulation, and to consider how to release 'em quickly if the need arises, unrolling will only work so far as the wall if they aren't consciously helping, cutting is option too.

I'd be interested if anyone has a safety precaution for that - since I've been using it as a quickie when nothing is around dealie since I was a kid, and really can't think of a danger in doing it offhand besides the above.

not really discussed as far as do's/dont's, but previosly mentioned in this thread MUMMIFICATION_PICTORAL_by_RENEGADEBIKER_for_those_whom_have_no_clue_what_kink_this_is_in_bondage

and no real need to be sorry about bringing up a topic previously discussed - it takes me anywhere from 1 to 3 hours just to read what has been posted since my last visit (and I am not a slow reader, I finished the latest Harry Potter book in 6 hours), let alone go back and read all the previous topics

darchart -> RE: Mummification (8/12/2004 7:35:36 AM)

The thought of mummification has been playing in my mind ever since I had a very tight herbal wrap at a spa about 2 years ago. After reading the posts here it may become an obsession.. [:D]

SentForu -> RE: Mummification (8/12/2004 12:50:01 PM)

Hmm, now that does sound a bit more fun than what I have read about previously.
