I would definately attend an auction... And writing skills? Yeah, for me that's a plus. As well as anyone that can make a bed properly!! I swear, a messy bed actually keeps me awake at night!! I have been known to get up and straighten up the bed so that I could go back to sleep!!

I'm so tempted to say "yeah, right".  In fact, damnit, I will say "yeah, right" !  Whatever this "right situation" is, Jewel, I've not seen it in the UK before. 

Maybe 100 or more UK dominas, all clothed, with sidearms or nightsticks at the least, and just one UK sub male, completely naked and bound - and then the most forceful and brazen of those dominas might tentatively step forward and say, "Excuse me, but would you mind awfully if I were to dominate you ever so slightly?"

Status: offline 		I can't even begin to fathom that!! I've worked in areas with all women and they have managed to make me blush! And I felt sooo bad for that cute guy that came in once a week to recycle the steel there!! He didn't have a moments peace!! Talk about sexual harassment to the extreme!! You must be used to being around those "proper and polite" women folk I've read about yet never met one.
 
Am I the only female here that's gonna step up and tell these guys that they have it all wrong? Yes, under the right circumstances we're all about being the unltimate lady... but switch that around a little, like at a male strip show... a whole different animal appears.

--not true. In the past, I've held a slave auction where dominant women bid on male subs and it went great.

Status: offline 		I find auctions uninteresting. The fantasy is great but the reality, after having participated in auctions, can be awkward.

While I don't have to have a deep connection, I find it important to have some attraction, connection, and chemistry. An auction can make for awkwardness if this connection is not there, or if the purchase is by someone whose advances have already created a want for space. If someone is interesting to me, I am better of making an introduction than hoping that this person will be the winning bid on my auction.

Also, one auction I attended had too many on the auction block. At the end, the interest subsided. I placed a bid on a sub because no one else was placing a bid. I placed the bid to break the awkward silence and get the process started but there were no other bidders. I ended up winning the auction and gifting her back to her husband.

I have to agree with you on this one. I have been to several auctions and the F/Dommes had no problems letting everyone know their opinions on the subs presented. No shyness problems there and watching them is one of them favorite parts of an auction for me. One year at Leather Retreat my ex bought 2 Dommes to top me and they were both wonderful ladies.

Status: offline 		service auctions can be good ways to raise money for events as well.  at one auction i attended over 500$ was raised. subs with other talents like cooking and massage can bring high bidding, even simple things like house cleaning and such are good. as far as the auction that can be a fun thing just to set up in one i was in some of the slaves tried to escape and the handlers had to restrain them it was a blast.

I could see this auction working, albeit as a light-hearted sort of thing.  Proceeds (if any money involved) to charity, some later, similar, event, or even towards the bar.  But, I think I'd still have a strong urge to hide and watch everyone else getting embarrassed instead of me.

...back in school a fraternity would have a crossdressing/strip show auction for charity. All the guys had to dress like woman and strip on a catwalk. Then they were auctioned off after offering something to potential female bidders (i.e. dinner, a movie, a picnic, laundry, dishes, repairing a car, tennis lessons, or whatever). None of the girls were shy- especially about cat calling the guys and telling them exactly what they should take off and how among lots of *other* poignant suggestions. There was always lots of groping and 'investigating' before you made a purchase. We got into huge bidding wars. It was awesome. We definitely were not shy. And the guys absolutely ate it up although they were always surprised we could be such animals.
