....omg all of the post just make me feel old, because i know what and have used, lived and may still have what everyone is talking about, lolol....fyi i have a large stack of albums...including pink floyd.....giggles...its always funny to watch the younger ones faces when they realize you have lived and or used said items...

Getting old is when you use to buy pot by the oz. and it was under 30bucks for the good stuff, and crack was called freebasing, and a gang was something on West Side Story

What makes me feel old is that the cool thing to do to cars these days is to make them sound like mosquitos on crack.. what happened to pumping up the motor and making it sound all throaty and deep?

they're doing the mosquito on crack noise on purpose? oh shit, i thought those cars were about to throw a rod or something else really bad and making me thankful that it wasn't my car making that noise. damn.... i really am getting old. ~sigh~

Girl, you still got "IT"!!!!

(just a little side story - this much younger man (27, I was 45 at the time) was almost begging me to go out with him for almost 2 years. I had issues with the difference in our ages. Finally, I spent some time with him, and honestly, it was one of the most fun dates I've ever had. Needless to say, I'm no longer opposed to dating someone that much younger than myself.)

You know when you are old when you relate to everything said in this thread... sob for a bit and then a few minutes later can't remember what you are sobbing about... then the adult um, pats you and treats you like you're in your second um'hood... and wonder what comes next... You know when your old when.....

Screaming Lord..... who? Deep Purple who? then of course there is the whole progressive rock scene, which seems to stump a good many people much younger than my self.
Then of course, there is Trance, which except for the repetitious nature of it, start talking about similarities between it and Psychadelia of the late 60's and early 70's and they think its the latest street drug that I am talking about.
Then of course there is the whole perception that sampling or scratching is something totally new and you yourself think back to when you would be listening to Black Sabbath.
There is of course talking about the things you used to do when you were younger because they still had the affect of shocking the fundamentalists. Body piercings that you made yourself from safety pins.
Of course there is also the party favors. (Which I will not get into since many of you are old enough to know what is being implied)
When of course you drift off in remembrance of the good old days when there was less chemicals in everything that you did to and put in your body and pleasure was something much simpler than today.
When you remember having bush parties and that you did not need a permit to have an open fire or to have a private gathering in the middle of the woods and you did not have people complaining because you were carrying on to loudly.
When there were places that you could still swim for free and of course fishing did not require a license.

I would not call it getting old, just becoming more experienced.
