Woooo, English can wear them too,

It's in our history.

In fact as a battle re-enactor years ago, I did wear one, with woolly drawers nicked from Roman design.

Ohhh making me hot under the collar that is, I need to find me a man with a kilt.

Dnomyar -> RE: Skirts for men (1/26/2009 5:30:48 AM)

Anerin  Im smart. Why try to toss a whole telephone pole when you can cut it into pieces and do it.

Aneirin -> RE: Skirts for men (1/26/2009 5:54:43 AM)

Or even just a telephone ?

Lynnxz -> RE: Skirts for men (1/26/2009 5:56:03 AM)

Yuck. The utilikilt reminds me of those god awful renn fairs, and wannabe metal bands.

Do not want.

*smiles*  Well thank you for the flattery.  I don't know if my scarred up, pale legs would qualify as sexy, but I am flattered.  I'm not against wearing a kilt, I just wouldn't wear something that pricey everyday.  If you're going to pay that much, you might as well get something nicer.

Kilts seem to be a real popular item that men want to see back in fashion.  But I notice you never hear men expressing the same enthusiasm for other male skirts.  Sarongs, pareos, dhoti, and the like.  Although I have to admit the Greek foustanella is extremely "girly" looking.

kittinSol -> RE: Skirts for men (1/26/2009 6:08:22 AM)

Everyone knows what Scottish men wear under their kilts; that's why kilts are so popular [8D] .

LunaVenus -> RE: Skirts for men (1/26/2009 6:10:00 AM)

I enjoy dressing up sissys in dresses, makeup and wigs ....But I do NOT want any man that I am involved with to wear any kind of dress! I do not find anything sexy about it at all.  Shorts, thongs and speedos are just fine for My men.

Aneirin -> RE: Skirts for men (1/26/2009 6:35:00 AM)

Trousers only came about because of horse riding, but now how many people use a horse for transport. I have the problem, I hate short trousers, I won't wear them, so when it is warm, it's trousers and those in hotter climates just think we are nuts wearing trousers. People in hot climates were skirt like attire for the practicality of the things, yet we seem stuck with the mentality that trousers or shorts are the only things we can wear.

I have been seen outside of my house wearing an Indian Lungi, whilst taking the garbage out, get some stares, but bollocks to them. I have already warned my local pub I may be seen at some point in a kilt.

Oh, and I understand the term 'kilt' comes from a Danish word, perhaps they wore them and it's none too warm in Danmark either,

YoursMistress -> RE: Skirts for men (1/26/2009 6:50:52 AM)

I went to a formal dinner last year and a group of men arrived (I was going to say came but this board scares me) in kilts and were near instant celebrities.  I don't own a tuxedo, but am thinking seriously about a kilt and formal jacket for the future,  Hmm... which tartan to choose...?

slaveboyforyou -> RE: Skirts for men (1/26/2009 6:50:54 AM)

I live in a hotter climate.  Between late May and early September, the temperature routinely get up to 100F with 100% humidity.  You start sweating the moment you walk outside.  I wear shorts whenever possible.  Last year it got so damn hot in July, work was relaxing the 'no shorts' rule.

MistresseLotus -> RE: Skirts for men (1/26/2009 7:43:21 AM)

I've always thought kilts are the most practical design for the male anatomy and trousers most practical for the female.

I like all of the above on a man.  I just find them hot, accessable and I am big on men being able to wear whatever they want if they want and when.  Foustanellas are cool, but I do not like the tights that go with them.  I don't like them together.

A blue ribbon, as indicated ;)

Zilch. Rien. Nada. It's the least they can do: Scotland is possibly the least sexy country on Earth. They've gotta do sumfink about it, know wot I mean?

popeye1250 -> RE: Skirts for men (1/26/2009 8:53:40 AM)

I have a kilt in Donegal Tartan that I wear for ceremonial purposes.
I don't wear it all the time.
My sub back in N.H. liked it when I wore it around the house.
And, they are expensive!
Mine cost $650.
And it weighs about 6 pounds due to the high thread count.

That's because it was made by naked Oirish virgins.

GreedyTop -> RE: Skirts for men (1/26/2009 8:56:27 AM)

Kittin... do you not realize the fun in awarding the blue ribbons?

Pirate is wearing a utilitikilt type thing for the wedding (he's collecting blue ribbons)
