Bottom Line Personal reports that researchers at Duke University Medical Center, analysing the results of six different studies involving 70,000 men and 76,000 women, have found that regular aspirin (325mg daily) affords a 15% overall risk reduction for cancer, up to 20% for prostate cancer, and as much as 30% for colorectal cancer.

Interestingly, the correlation did not hold for other NSAIDs like ibuprofen and tylenol.

The data they analysed came from six different studies. I don't have any details of those individual studies, just the report of their findings on the combined data..

It is good news anyway.
I was curious how long they needed before they know cancer shows up...or when not.

Aspirin has always been one of those drugs that has many different benefits. It has been such a good cure all for many things, that the drug companies have always pushed their other pain and fever reducing remedies. Too bad DMSO was banned (for anything but transplants) and studies on it's use were suppressed. I am glad that I am on a daily aspirin regiment.
