Funny you should post this. I was just having a thoughtful c-mail discussion about the level of respect President Obama deserves from the right, in light of the level of respect Mr. Bush received from the Left.

What are your thoughts on that subject, stef?

slvemike4u -> RE: 8 Years in 8 Minutes (1/27/2009 7:15:16 PM)

A mite more goes into deciding how much respect a particular person and /or ideology is due,than what side of the aisle one happens to be on.At least in my mind Sanity.

dcnovice -> RE: 8 Years in 8 Minutes (1/27/2009 7:19:43 PM)

Oh please. We know from the Clinton Administration how the right is likely to conduct itself. It's not like negative politics suddenly started in 2001.

All this "Mommy, Mommy, those mean Democrats said nasty things about George W. Bush" is just an excuse.

A whiny excuse.

Sanity -> RE: 8 Years in 8 Minutes (1/27/2009 7:51:17 PM)

So little Johnny Republican started it.  [sm=poke.gif]

If that's true then little Susie Liberal raised it to an art form... [sm=domme.gif]

Still - the point is, where would we like to see it go from here.

Isn't that special.

Why don't you start a thread about it instead of derailing this one and maybe people will share their thoughts on the matter.

First, let's not try to rewrite history. It's important to turn the page, but that won't erase what's written in the previous chapters.

Yes, it is, as a matter of fact. Is the man Mr. Obama, or is he President Obama.

"Bush" was never President Bush, was he. By the standards set on this particular discussion board Obama could be called a lot of vile things and yet the discussion would never sink so low as it did when "Bush" was president.

If political hate speech isn't the topic you envisioned when you posted that particular mindless Overman rant, what did you have in mind.

Owner59 -> RE: 8 Years in 8 Minutes (1/27/2009 8:43:49 PM)

Did you see the look on bush`s face as Andrew Card tells him about the attack.

All of a sudden,he gets that the job is as serious as a heart attack and no fun-fun time.

To bad he was never up to the task.

Looking back,that`s obvious.

FullfigRIMAAM1 -> RE: 8 Years in 8 Minutes (1/27/2009 9:04:36 PM)

I saw it...   I felt sorry for GW, because it's as if he simply had no idea, and was in over his head.
*I still laughed though*
I love Keith Olberman, and have thought more than once about stalking him and offering a free spanking session.     M

It`s name was Newt,....not Johny Republican.

His nick in DC,was "the bomb thrower".lol

[8D]

And since when is pointing out failure and incompetence, a partisan thing?

It seems lopsided, b/c there`s so much failure and incompetence coming out of the republicans.

I'm fairly certain he was.  Are you unsure?

Bush was was called a lot of vile things because he did a lot of vile things, that much was proven long before I posted that video.  If Obama sinks to the horrific levels that Bush did, I would imagine that people will say equally vile things about him as well.  We'll just have to wait and see.

The topic is the video, I thought that was plain enough.  If you want to rant and whine some more about Obama, feel free to do it somewhere else.

Hippiekinkster -> RE: 8 Years in 8 Minutes (1/27/2009 9:43:57 PM)

Brilliant. Genius. How Olberman mnnaged to capture the most incompetent, criminal, corrupt, morally bankrupt, hateful, divisive, and just plain fucked administration in the history of the country, in just 8 short minutes, I'll never know.

You can`t say a vile thing like Mr. Obama is directly responsible for the deaths of over 4200 of our precious GIs, because Mr Obama isn`t responsible for those deaths or the tens of thousands of serious injuries suffered by them.

However you can say that bush is responsible for the deaths of over four thousand two hundred of our brave young men and women, because he actually is  responsible for the deaths of over four thousand two hundred of our brave young men and woman.

You couldn`t say a vile thing like Obama committed treason by revealing the secrete ID of a CIA agent(a hanging offense) or ruined an intel gathering opperation, because Mr. Obama has never done such a vile thing.

One can say however,that bush and people in his office committed treason by revealing the name of an under cover CIA agent and ruined an intel gathering opperation, because he did reveal the name of one of our field agent and the intel gathering opperation she worked in.

See how it works?

You gotta fuck up before you get called on it.

Ya gotta be a fuck up,before you`re called a fuck up.

I could go on,but you get the point with out me listing the dozens of his deadly costly embarrassing screw ups.

One week into bush`s term,no vile things were said about him.Not the 1st year and not much of anything the whole first term.

Before and after 9/11 he was basically left to himself and faced no real criticism from the press,till Katrina.

That day/week,the emperor finally had no clothes.But not before plunging us into another Viet Nam,losing an American city, gitmo/torture fun and sowing the seeds of the crash.

No, I think we can trace this extreme partisan nonsense even further, back to the Reagan years and the rise of Jerry Falwell and the Moral Majority, which by their very title implied that anyone who disagreed with their politics was immoral.

Back to the start of the republic, actually.

Vendaval -> RE: 8 Years in 8 Minutes (1/28/2009 5:23:00 PM)

Yes, back to the Whigs and the Torys.
