Alas, here in Gainesville, the munch is 21 and over! Although I might show up anyway. They never ask for your age at restaurants.

Although a new group has sprung up in Ocala (which is about 60 mins away) that doesn't require an age. Alas though, a weekend work schedule and also a broken down car have not permitted me to go there.

Munches that are 21+ usually take place in bars. If you're unsure of age limits, ask the group leader. But it's disrespectful to attend an event that you should not be going to if you are under the age limit. Talk to the host or hostess. Maybe they'll invite you specifically so you don't have to crash.

Nah I already tried joining the local group upfront about my age. Got me banned. Policy restriction. I wouldn't be welcome at the Munch because it is run by said group, so asking the coordinator won't help me any. I can rejoin in 10 months. The problem is, it is 10 months. Besides, again, I work on Sat.

I'm probably just starting to get a little edgy and frustrated at the whole "You are too young" thing.

(Lying doesn't work for me, so I wouldn't go to the Munch as it is.)

I would like to go to the other group in Ocala in the meantime, but again, I work Sat.

Having heard this over and over and over again all I can give you from where I am is a virtual *HUG*.

While it may be little comfort you do have more information and contact via the Net than was available even a decade ago. Though I can also imagine that having this vitual information and contact just makes you long for face-to-face contact even more.
