Always annoying when someone isnt what you expect them to be. Its a risk we all run though especially online but also in life generally. Its so easy to pretend to be one thing and do another and trusting decent people usually end up getting the crappy end of this kind of treatment. The guy probably hoped there would be more whatever that is if he got his foot in the door with your friend.

Phoenix I believe veronica's 'care and feeding' is largely based on an almost martyr-like need to continually shout on the rooftops that he is the exception to the rule and has no needs or desires for affection, sex, romance or S&M. His desire/need to be unique, special is so great that he has to constantly put himself on a pedestal as a self-less sub. In reality, he's getting a lot in return. He gets room & board (while he may hand over his check, it's not much money), use of the computer, and "something to do" rather than log onto a public library terminal day after day and complain about how all femdoms are out for money. I think someone else pointed out that we "get it" when it comes to veronica's deal. We have heard it a hundred times. The day came today and he was to pick up Her charge at a specific time---when the charge walked out of the building, no submissive--calls where made to discover he was stuck in traffic ( no call to the Domme to indicate any such situation)--finally the charge was picked up, when they arrived at the house--he indicated it just wasnt working--it was too much, he was spending too much time doing little things with little exposure to the Mistress. Needless to say--- So, this should bring some interesting opinions about service, this situation, experiences with service submissives??? You reap what you sow.

It almost sounds like she did an "Oh, fantastic, I've got someone to do all this (stuff)" and took her laundry list of things she wanted done but didn't want to do herself and Dumped it on him, then walked away and expected him to do it. Even though this as a no-strings, no-relationship type deal, there should have been some trial runs, some training of what she expected, and continued hands-on management, step by step all the way, and continual contact, even just "checking in" on her part to see how he was doing, etc. I think his statement at the very end, "he was spending too much time doing little things with little exposure to the Mistress" is very profound, and is the root cause of this relationship's failure. SHE needed to have been in more contact, more control, taken responsibility for HER part of the relationship, and I don't get the impression that she ever saw this in the light of a 2-way relationship in the first place. It is ALWAYS a 2-way relationship, even if there are no strings.
