Yep, Garlic is all powerful, but thank fuck for odourless garlic capsules, which are the thing, unless the other half is an avid garlic muncher too.

Over here, the Isle of Wight hosts and annual garlic festival where can be found anything and everything garlic, including garlic beer and garlic ice cream.

The garlic capital of the world is Gilroy, California, as everyone knows (Castroville is the Artichoke capitol).

But, as the article points out, the US gets most of its garlic from those godless commie Chinese these days. Heathens.

Here's The Stinking Rose, San Francisco's famous garlic restaurant.

Based on the article it is actually hard to evaluate the actual potency of garlic as an antioxidant. The effective compound allicin has to break down certain way to be effective as I understand.  How allicin content compares to other veggies with good antioxidants (carotens, flavanoids)? How heating affects the antioxidant properties of garlic? Otherwise, I use garlic often.

Ah yes, the aromatic glory that is Gilroy in the summer time...

My parents and I have travelled a fair bit through the west. During one tour we found ourselves driving through Gilroy in the early summer. We had not read up on the place and were a little um surprised by the, how shall I say it, unforgettable aroma.

Its certainly one place we won't forget in a hurry.

There is a good pictoral and explanation here on the cultivation and harvesting of garlic.  The flowers are quite pretty.
