Perhaps they get a kick out of talking that way. They might be som concerned about what's in their own head that they don't care about others' perceptions.

I get this one person one loads of diff profiles who send me the same pictures, then seem shocked when I tell them I know their other profile names. and one i like has a female name but is registered as being a male dominant

LOL! I used to get this woman who emailed me like 3 times a week. I told her I was straight but she told me she was playing matchmaker for her son. The thing is...she was 39 (when she first started emailing me). Now, like 2 months later, she's 53!

Even corporations have learned to 'fake' being personable in a form letter so why can't someone so keen on finding a suitable mate do one better and actually look for cues that the person wants to be heard and understood?

Being lazy only attracts the lazy. Maybe a longwinded form letter might get a bite or two, but in the end they will wiggle off the hook when you both discover you have nothing in common except the ability to cut and paste.

If they persist cut and paste a large block of text of something obscure, like say part of the tax code and send it along. It will confuse most and make the paranoid ones stay away!
