The Beauty of Nature

A little something to induce the 'ooohs' and 'aaaahs'. Would have loved to have seen the pictures of Lisha mothering the porcupine [:D]

Glad ya both liked it. Life in Brighton has almost come to a standstill - it's amazing how a little snow can practically bring a city to its knees - so decided to look for 'nicer' news.

Here is both nature and nurture working in perfect harmony.

Gorgeous :-) . It's amazing that a dog can nurture completely different species from her own... nature is amazing.

i think its like the caring impulse for baby anythings really, we humans have it too

kittinSol -> RE: Meet Lisha (2/2/2009 6:36:49 AM)

Although I draw the line at caring for baby crocodiles [8D] .

colouredin -> RE: Meet Lisha (2/2/2009 6:47:49 AM)

awww no baby crocs are soo soo cute!

MissMorrigan -> RE: Meet Lisha (2/2/2009 7:01:47 AM)

Quite a few years ago I had the honour of holding a baby cayman, and couldn't wait to  hand the thing back quickly enough after my middle finger became clamped in its choppers. No harm done to me, but those things have a perfect set of killer gnashers even when tiny.

I'm sure that given our propensity to feel maternal towards anything that's vulnerable, even a baby croc would win your heart. Just love it from a distance and have contact only via a long pole - sounds like the ideal love affair with a few politically oriented CM members [:D]

MissMorrigan -> RE: Meet Lisha (2/2/2009 7:09:52 AM)

You mean bite without blinking and have a tendency to regurgitate the indigestible? Yep, that's the kind [:D]

GreedyTop -> RE: Meet Lisha (2/2/2009 7:27:22 AM)

when iw as a kid i used to force my parents to let em visit baby crocs every chance i got. by the third or fourth visit they got bored and let em go by myself.. by the sixth ro seventh visit the handler let me get more firsky, seeign that i knew what i was doing.

over the years i started to play with all sorts of bity quick and primal things.. its scary but when its done just to find those parts fo yourself.. those fears and at times strengths.. can be cool

killers are always cute when they are young yeh?

MissMorrigan -> RE: Meet Lisha (2/2/2009 10:36:54 AM)

Many hugs for you too, Lucy x

I love watching the snow and people playing in it, but now that I'm a curmudgeonly 44 year old that seizes up whenever something cold touches me, I'm watching from a distance. It's wonderful to see/hear the kids out there playing, and some adults too, even now that it's dark I can still hear squeals of merriment and it really does warm the cockles, ya know.  Brighton is so quiet, so many  people weren't able to get to work due to no buses and a very limited train service, some shops were shut and the schools were out. I bet the kids wish it could be like this every day!

We know that each year the snow is likely to come, even when it does (in the south) there's just a few inches of it, six at most, unlike that of those in the north that have to suffer blizzards. But, why on earth does this bring us to a relative standstill? Other countries deal with it, the world keeps on functioning, it has to. But good old britain gets shocked into a catatonic state at the sight of snow!

That's for sure, Nysian, then they grow up and become more discerning, so the guy that claims he was 'stalked' by a croc claims
