Sanity -> Obama Stands By Daschle (2/2/2009 10:34:24 AM)

If any Republican President tried to put TWO tax cheats in his or her cabinet, is there any doubt you could hear Democrats' howls of righteous indignation from the moon?

Secretary nominee 'deeply embarrassed,' regrets taxpaying errors

WASHINGTON - Trying to salvage his nomination, Tom Daschle apologized Monday for delinquent tax payments as President Barack Obama and a top Senate chairman stood by him as the choice to lead the Health and Human Services Department.

Following a weekend of revelations about taxes and potential ethical conflicts, Daschle expressed remorse to the Senate Finance Committee, the panel that will decide his fate, saying he was "deeply embarrassed and disappointed" about failing to pay more than $120,000 in back taxes.

Obama, speaking to reporters, said he was "absolutely" supporting his Cabinet choice. Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., chairman of the Senate panel, said he backed Daschle's confirmation. The expression of support from Baucus came hours before Daschle was scheduled to meet with the committee and despite a less than amicable relationship between the two men.

In a related story, Obama's pick for Treasury Secretary is a tax cheat too!

I thought team Obama was supposed to have the toughest vetting process in the history of the country, or was that just media hype?
Geithner, Daschle (not only a tax cheat but a closet lobbiest) , Richardson, Holder....and Lord knows who else, all made it through the process.  And who headed the team of "vetters"....if that's what they are called.. Mr. Panetta, the Obama choice for C.I.A.

Edited to remove some nasty feelings I have about Mr. Panetta.

Sanity:

Forget a Republican putting a tax cheat on their cabinet. Look at what the Obama-ites and the Democratic machine did to Joe the Plummer for his little tax problems. And all he was was some local schmuck who attended an Obama rally. The Obama-ites and the D- Machine held him up to ridicule and used him as an example of McCain's poor vetting/assesment abilites. Yet these two criminals are going to be on the National payroll and running Government offices.

And yes, folks, they are criminals. If you or I had evaded our taxes we would be in jail for it. Just like Al Capone and Leona Helmsley.

The Obama team couldn't vet a flea, let alone people who are going to be responsible for running our country.

This is the bestist administration EVVA!!!
2 tax cheats 17 lobbist's and counting!
well I was just remided and O is a liarer as well, I remember he saying " I will take only gov money for my campaign"
LOL
That was lie 1, and did you see that now its comming out that team O had highlevel meetings with Iran, in direct violation of the logan act!
Summary
The Logan Act, codified at 18 U.S.C. § 953, states:
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without
authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any
correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or
agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States,
or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or
imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply, himself or his
agent, to any foreign government or the agents thereof for redress of any injury
which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or
subjects.
The Logan Act was intended to prohibit United States citizens without authority
from interfering in relations between the United States and foreign governments.
There appear to have been no prosecutions under the Act in its more than 200 year
history. However, there have been a number of judicial references to the Act, and it
is not uncommon for it to be used as a point of challenge concerning dealings with
foreign officials. Although attempts have been made to repeal the Act, it remains law
and at least a potential sanction to be used against anyone who without authority
interferes in the foreign relations of the United States.

Here's a link that tells you step by step how to contact the President of The United States to voice your opinion(s) about his job performance, or whatever else you'd like to say. Why waste time posting here when you can say it directly to him? Unless of course yer chicken to say to him what you're proclaiming here...[;)]

"So far as can be determined, there have been no prosecutions under the Logan
Act."

If I were Obama I would be shaking in my boots....Oh no! they are going to prosecute me under the Logan Act!

Maybe they could come after him with some other scofflaws that are still on the books...Sodomy or spitting on a sidewalk.

Do you even bother reading what you post?  But I remember that you are only after the "truth"...."I do not tolerate lies. a lie is a lie is a lie."  You don't care about lies or the truth....You only care about drivel that will support your stringent political beliefs...You are as transparent as you are silly.

We have seen samples of what occurs when the average American stands up against Obama.  Thats why his critics are attacking him on message boards.  Just making his supporters regret their votes for him.

I rarely regret laughing, which is the only emotion most of the attackers are invoking for me.

Ah well.

I haven't seen anything negative happen to anyone who's stood up to him as of yet. Can anyone catch me up to what I've missed?

Sanity -> RE: Obama Stands By Daschle (2/2/2009 6:46:17 PM)

Google "Joe The Plumber".

It's common knowledge that Joe was savaged just for asking Candidate Obama a few pressing questions, and many Liberals will tell you that they're happy about that fact.

Every aspect of Joe's  life was placed under a microscope and every possible deficiency was headline news. He lost his job, his tax records were made public...

Joe learned the hard way not to ask Obama too many questions.

That shoe can be thrown both ways.

Why are you wasting your time posting here when you could be writing to the president, and telling him that you don't care how many tax cheats and big-time lobbyists he stacks his administration with... because he'll always have your undeserving trust and support no matter what he does.
