ORIGINAL: MyWorldCT Most viruses do not live outside of the body for more than 10 minutes, however, staph and a few others need some help dying. Jsut think of yourself as a big virus and bacteria factory (gross.. I know), but you need a few things to live. Water, Food, Oxygen, Proper Temperature.... so if I put you outside naked and it is 10 degree F outside (hypothermia- that must be someone's fantasy on here), you will only last for about 5-6 hours max,... now think of something microscopic and how long that will last. I recommend using a viruscide and a general cleaner, like dishsoap. The viruscide will kill everything and the soap will wash the chemicals from the cleaner away, as well as disolve the grease or oils that hold the bacteria and virus in place. You can get viruscide at any local drugstore or on the interwebs. [8|] I know, I know... I am sooo romantic. [:'(] romantic but correct. ;) Dawn is a good one to use, for soap. Original Dawn, at least. It's non toxic and mild, but very effective. They use it at veterinarians offices for washing animals that need it, as well as at oil spill sites etc. I used to tell all of the customers that asked about such things when I was working at a toy store to use dawn, or just a mild soap and hotish warm water.
