I've been dabbling medical play just enough to say I enjoy snapping the gloves on my hand, and we have a nice new W-wheel. Thinking back though about medical play, it was one of the first games I ever played with someone. I was 7 and she was the same. I had the makings of a good doctor back then, but my heart just wasn't into it...there was that new Hot Wheels set that kept distracting me. Like Mae West said: "Youth is wasted on the young." I suppose she was right.

The Green Door in Las Vegas has a "medical" room for such play. Pity we didn't find it earlier in the evening the night of Steelbilation '08!

Well why not

When I was a pro Domme one of my rooms was a white room as I specialized in medical play. It was an amazingly intimidating room with glass cabinets full of sterile surgical steel medical tools and my all time prized piece of equipment, a white leather custom made medical bench with straps and stirrups.

I have done a lot of stuff including foley's, suturing, saline infusions and some fairly radical infibulation.

A few people here have mentioned about humiliation. Funny enough, of all the medical bunnies I have ever played with I have only come across a very few that want any kind of humiliation. The majority like the Doctor/nurse/patient atmosphere where I am reassuring but firm.
When I set up my white room I invested in a few latex medical outfits along with a real nurses outfit and scrubs. I have worn my latex outfits to clubs but never once been asked by a medical recipient to wear anything other than the real thing.

Not so irrational. You may be basing it on the idea of a person who is put into a position of trust, and abuses that position. A doctor is the classic 'trust' profession. You presume knowledge and ethics without proof.

History is littered with such abusers in the medical profession. There is a higher than average incidence among serial killers. Shipman, Crippen, Marat, Karadzic, Cream, Holmes and many many more.

All people who used their profession to access hundreds of victims. Some argument about inherent evil versus the opportunity their work presented, but the result was the same.

Most sawbones are ok I suppose, but automatic trust, No thanks.

I call it irrational because I know exactly when it was caused, therefore in my mind since I know the reason (and it is a valid reason) the fear is irrational. Which is probably an irrational line of thinking! But usually understanding the cause is enough for me to move past something, in this case though I cannot seem to move past it even after undergoing EMDR.

LOL.....a few years back, while working at a pathology lab, I was going through the supply closet looking for something and stumbled across a big box full of "disposable vaginal speculums". Apparently they supplied them to clients. My eyes must have lit up like Christmas morning, and, after making sure I wasn't observed, I slipped one in my lab coat pocket and took it home. Never got the chance to use it, and it's still in my toybox. Hopefully someday.....

Does nothing for me, although my room is packed full of medical equipment. Not sure why I'd ever need a chest drain kit but you never know.

OK... I guess that leaves out the mock surgery and anesthesia gang bang with ultrasound pictures stories. (in the 70s & 80s I owned a clinic and was admin for several others… had a lot of access to medical play on weekends while clinics were closed.)

I owned clinics…
I started exploring my sadism in my teens and started my first long term lifestyle relationship with a severe masochist into bloodsport at the age of 15. So by the time I hit my 20s, owned my own clinic and was partial owner and administrator of several others, I was a devout practicing sadist with an extreme masochist as my collared slave. I had clinics, equipment and yes, drugs freely at my disposal. I’m having a little trouble wrapping my head around a story to tell that won’t get me TOSed.
