"Deprive your skin of oxygen"? The skin doesn't breathe. I don't know where Fleming got that idea but it's almost as bad as the idea that diamonds don't burn. I have no idea who Fleming? is, I'm talking about sweat and rashes. If you encase in a non-breathable material you sweat.. you sweat, you get a rash.. you get a rash.. that's a mark. Her whole issue was to avoid marks. If you smother the skin with a non-breathable material, what, exactly, do you believe happens? Nothing? You don't sweat underneath it? You don't raise your external body temperature and leak out fluids in the bodies attempt to stay cool? Where do you suppose the fluid is going to go if it's trapped next to the skin? What do you suppose sweat consists of? Things like salt? An abrasive? It's just common sense here. No Ph.D required. Ask any mother of any child who ever had diaper rash how to ease the childs comfort. You take off the diaper and expose the effected area to air. Throw on some Gold Bond powder for good measure and the kid will feel better. Of course, we're talking about way's to avoid such things, not incur them. Deprive the skin of oxygen, suffer the consequences, allow the skin to breath, and don't worry about things like marks due to rashes. If you dislike the verbiage I used, that's a personal issue with which you'll have to learn to live. You can color me clueless with your comment about burning diamonds. If you were trying to make a point, I didn't get it. Fact of the matter is, to someone who has never engaged in any form of bondage before, ever, they don't know how they will react, so to suggest they go for complete mummification with saran wrap is a bit irresponsible IMO. It doesn't matter how much research someone does prior to engaging. The proof is in the pudding and if the bottom gets a panic attack, my suggestions are going to be much better suited than yours. As for the cost of asylum restraints, I don't know where you shop, but a good set of leather cuffs has cost me upwards of $60.00.. nylon around $30.00 and my set of asylum restraints cost me $15.00.. I call that pretty cheap when you compare it and there's no comparison on the comfort levels. If you've never gotten a bruise from having something wrapped to tightly, kudo's to you. That doesn't mean it doesn't or can't happen however. I have had to have two surgery's on my elbow because of just such a situation. A medial epicondialectomy and an ulnar/radial transposition and have lost the feeling, permanently, in my pinky and ring finger of my right hand and I get to carry an 8" m scar on my arm for the rest of my life. Not exactly the sort of marking that one chooses to own. I bruised severely the first time I was mummified with saran wrap because it was much to tight and I was in it way to long. When I came out of it, I was literally blue.. within a few days I was green and yellow. As I recall, some kind soul had recommended it to us to give it a shot because I already knew I loved bondage and 20 years ago, we didn't have an internet to go to and do some research. You are entitled to give any advice you choose. I am entitled to disagree with it and offer my own. The OP is responsible for making the choices which best suit the situation.. the best way to do that is to be aware of the risks then decide for yourself if you want to take those risks. You offer scene info without putting forth one shred of safety information to go along with it. I operate on a different wave length. To each their own. Celeste
