with over 4,000 feet of rope just for myself, and about another 4,000 feet of "in stock" merchandise that I sell on my website, the "rope salad" effect can be a difficult mountain to overcome. You didn't mention if this is in your own playroom, or if you will be putting these into a toybag to travel to a playspace. If this is all being done in your own home, I would advise getting some kind of pegged strip (coat rack strips work great) and mount it on the wall of your playroom. For storage in a toybag your going to need to keep them in some kind of coil. I personally use six different kinds of coils depending on rope length. If I want a 20 footer I look through the toybag for the rope coiled into a figure eight coil. If I want a 50 footer I look through the toybag for the rope coiled into a sea gasket. The two most common kinds of storage are shown here ..... http://www.geocities.com/roo_two/ropestorage.html Personally Im not that big a fan of storing ropes in a monkey chain. Tends to make "kinks" and bunch up the strands of a 3-strand rope.
