Welcome to Spring in Oklahoma! This is nothing unusual for us around here, although it is starting a tad Early this year compared to the Average. What it portends is an early spring, a seriously HOT ASS and longer than Typical summer, and a late fall - if the weather runs the way it always has when tornado season started this early. While the tornados were Hitting the Edmond area about 20 miles N. W. of me, I was in the back yard lounging in the hot tub - completely unaware that we even had tornado warnings out at the time. And that was in the middle of the afternoon yesterday - about 230pm local time. I didn't find out about it until the Hospice nurse showed up and mentioned that there were tornado warnings out. I glanced up at the clouds, realized the ones directly overhead were the wrong color for spawning tornados (they get this strange green-grey tinge to them that I've seen Every time a tornado has been seriously Close to my place) shrugged and went back to enjoying the hot tub. It wasn't until a couple of hours later while flipping through the news channels during dinner that I actually realized the extent of the nasty weather that hit the state yesterday.
