Sounds great but I'm 3000 miles away

. We need to have a convention in Kansas or somewhere in the middle of the country then maybe even our Canadian friends could attend. JMO.

Chicago is kinda in the middle, tix from NYC are just under $200, from Cali, I have no idea.

If we met in Chicago, it would definetly have to be spring or summer. In fact, I went to the first ever Shibaricon here in Chicago, and it was a blast. The one for next year is being planned as we speak, and here's the link:

Chicago has many many kinky folks, awesome pizza, Wrigley Field, and lots of fun stuff going on.

Last year's Shibaricon was Memorial Day weekend, May 27-31, and I suspect it will be the same time next year.

Not that we have to limit our gatherings to one location, it would be nice to swich areas though so that us poor folk have a chance at meeting all of ya'll!

We've done NY. San Francisco is up for bids, and so is Chicago.

Chicago is a great idea because a lot of flights offer discounts to big hubs, i.e. Miami to Chicago ($184). Thanks for the link. Maybe Kiki will feel like coming back to the states come May 2005. I just need to work on the BF to see if he is game for the trip.

Chicago would be nicer since it is more centrally located. Not all of us live on one coast or another.

Since some of the discussion here is about location and i've been visiting this site several times everyday, i can say with confidence that the best places to live if You want a good chance of meeting someone are: Frisco, Portland (OR), Seattle, Chicago, NYC, the west coast of Florida, Philly, and Dallas. Everyone else seems scattered to the four winds. It also seems that more people are located on the west coast than east. i'm not sure why but there seems to be a rather large number of people regularly online from the Seattle area. Of course, my findings are based on the filter i have for meeting someone so Your mileage may vary.

i think it would be interesting if there was some way to do a demographic study of people in the lifestyle without depending on whether they communicate online or not. i sometimes wonder just how many people there are that are NOT using a computer! i bet it's a large number. Just a thought.

Yeah, another vote for Chi Town!

I think it would be easier for me to organize this around Shibaricon - as last year it took place in a hotel near O'hare airport, and if I remember correctly, when you register for the conference, the website provides the link for the Hotel accomidations, and if you're at/near the airport, car rentals are a breeze.

Hotel room prices from last year were about $89/per night, I think.

Here's the rough estimate cost for ya:

plane ticket- obviously varies depending where you're coming from-looks like there are some good deals from Seattle & New York though.

Shibaricon- $200 for 3 days
Hotel room- $89 per night
Car rental- uhm, cheap

The chance to meet collarme friends & Rain....priceless!

I'm going to create a new topic in order to plan/organize meetups-be sure to look in upcoming events.

I'm working on two projects: 1st one is dinner & possible play date with fellow NY'ers.

Geez, I was in Kansas last summer bowling. I didn't see any kink going on.

Another thing, proudsub, ever go bowl at Nationals? In Tulsa next summer and then Reno and then Charlotte, NC. Not that anyone is remotely interested in meeting me, but I'd like to meet you!
