Can anybody tell me what the "at sign" (sorry, can't type it here, CM changes it to "****" when I type it) and "+" in front of the username in the chatroom list mean?

At first I thought the "at sign" were all bots, but I've seen some of them continuing conversations with others in the room. Does the "at sign" signify a moderator? If so, there are a LOT of them in some rooms.

I can't come up with ANY guess about the +. All genders and orientations seem to be included. What could it be?

I believe that the @ sign can be a bot, monitor or dominant.  The + means submissive...  At least that is what was explained to me.

Okay the 'at' sign comes out as stars...

I'm thinking the CollarMe/CollarChat server software is automatically changing the "at" character into a string of asterisks so that spam bots cannot stalk the site and harvest email addresses.

I might be wrong but at least that's how I've viewed this change.

Thanks, Lockit. That almost works. Could be it's set up to do that, but it doesn't always work.

The "ats" do seem to be bots, moderators, and/or dominants. Most of the + people seem to be subs, but I've found dominants there, too. And the "no prefix people" seem to be a complete mix. Sometimes my own name comes up as a +, other times with nothing in front of it.

Maybe there's something I've missed. Maybe the chatrooms don't pick up the information from the CM profile, and you need to register specifically for the chatrooms also?

Some of the bots in the chatrooms will change this according to how they are set up.  So some will have nothing by the nick and some will have a plus which in most rooms I was told, meant submissive, but could simply be how the room bot is set up and the person is not known to the bot.  Some might go on profile listing, but that I don't know.  But generally speaking it helps to figure out.  You can always ask in each room and they will typically tell you how their room works.
