CrazyCats -> Questions about the scene is South Carolina (2/17/2009 8:22:10 AM)

I have no idea where to stick this question, so I opted to put it in the general section.

We wish to know a little more about the local community around Columbia, SC. Who are they, when do they meet, what is the groups' aims, and would they allow guests to get to know them?

I did a short search of the forums, and everything seemed to be a little old. Perhaps it was the terms I used to search. I'll try again if I do not get some knowledgeable individual to answer my questions.

If there is not a strong community already, then hey... who wants to help start one? Anyone have any idea about the local laws regarding D/s stuff that would impact a group?

Thank you, I had not yet turned to google, but I was headed that way soon.

I was sort of hoping that someone personally involved would tell me about their group so we would not be flying completely blind into new situations. Perhaps I should have made that clearer in the original post. I'll edit to make my intentions clearer, Besides, I was informed that it was in the wrong place.

I have never been much of a forum user before, so I am still learning the etiquette, the style, and my way around. I'll learn soon enough.

Edit: hmm... can't edit the starting post. Interesting. i will have to keep that in mind.

I'm sure google already turned these up for you, but you might be interested in focusing on the links that came up for T3WD, Key, and SCLock.  All three of those groups are currently active, holding meet and greets, munches, and demos.

Personally, I'm a vetted member of all three.  I would suggest that you contact the groups through their websites.  Each one tells you about the group when you request membership on the mailing list.  I believe all of the groups require a confidentiality statement and only post their events (date and time) to their members.

The editing feature only works for about an hour after you post. Drives me crazy when I spot a typo the next day!

Thank ya!

I was looking at those three as well. I was not sure which of them were actually active. I will send in emails and the usual confidentiality bits, and start exploring. Perhaps we will rub elbows at a munch sometime in the near future.
