Personally, I've found that prosaic irony is of limited value: it works best when you aren't actually trying to pull the babe, i.e., as a friendly tease.

I've had better luck with: "what's a fucking tramp like you doing in a nice place like this"?

feydeplume -> RE: What kind of question is that? (2/18/2009 8:37:00 PM)

wait, were you expecting me to jump in again and "defend" her honor? or just laugh at what appears to be an issue for you about women not wanting to have intimate interaction with men? Is it a point of honor to get a lesbian to acknowledge that you exist? Is this a new form of existentialism that i haven't run into yet? "she is not into men, but will admit that i am, therefor i exist"? Descartes would be so.... flabbergasted.

I bought a guy on the strength of that line once. I liked the honesty and his up front approach.

we ended up sharking pool and doing shots til 4 am and 600 bucks later.

It's all in the delivery.

How about, "As long as I have a face you will have a place to sit"?   [8D]

Sfortzando -> RE: What kind of question is that? (2/18/2009 8:47:39 PM)

What's actually more obnoxious is when men assume I'm a man-hater just because I'm a lesbian. I love men. Some of my closest friends are men. I've been known to flirt with me. I just don't wanna fuck 'em.

I think that, in general, the guys who feel the need to 'convert' lesbians are just insecure about their own sexuality. They don't see a woman who isn't insterested in men; they see a woman who isn't interested in them, so they feel the need for macho posturing to assure themselves that there isn't anything wrong with them.

If I had a nickle for everytime some guy asured me that one night with him would change my mind, I could put the united states back in the green.

I used to use "I'm so confused, I think I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body". Think I copped that one from an old Al Franken movie, it's kinda passé now, and a lot of women these days seem to have lost their sense of humor.

And, I'm afraid I do hit on lesbians in a half assed way - you never know until you try. I do love to swab the Lilly, and I like a challenge. Most of them don't seem to get that bent if you're not an ass about it.

If you keep pestering them after they turn you down though, that's just crass.

Agreed... though I also don't understand lesbians who want to convert bisexuals to being lesbians. I like woman, I like men. Neither should feel threatened by the other!

Sfortzando -> RE: What kind of question is that? (2/18/2009 9:41:16 PM)

Yeah, that's always annoyed me, too. It's more prevelant with men, I think, but there's a kind of feeling like bisexual women (or men) are blood traitors or something. It's really stupid and just creates tension.

His next question will be, "do you want to come up and look at my sketches?"... that's another pick up line from wayyyyyy before you were born.

Really? I never gotten it from men. It's usually been from lesbians but there is a strong anti-bisexual group out there that, oddly enough, brings together both heterosexuals and homosexuals. Nothing quite like hate to bring people together, huh?

Sfortzando -> RE: What kind of question is that? (2/18/2009 9:55:23 PM)

History has proven time and time again that the best way to unite people is to pick another group to hate. It sucks, but it's human nature.

Kana -> RE: What kind of question is that? (2/18/2009 9:59:33 PM)

Ahhh
the concept of mirroring

feydeplume -> RE: What kind of question is that? (2/19/2009 6:10:40 AM)

Hey, if you want to play e-bodyguard that's your gig. Do what pleases ya'.

I'm just saying, if somebody had "NO BLACKS" at the top of their profile in big letters, and blocked any messages from blacks (because what could they possibly have to say that would be any value?), I'd figure they were racist. And if I were black, bored, and in a cranky mood, I'd probably take a few verbal potshots on general principle. It may be porn that gives life to the world of the Internet, but it's the lulz that make it spin, spin, spin!

feydeplume -> RE: What kind of question is that? (2/19/2009 6:22:17 AM)

so it was more of a "tag your it" kinda game then. cool. sorry to lump you in with that guy that just said "TALK TO ME".  I just wasn't clear if you were trying to join in the game, make a new game, or were off your game.

I actually got a message from a Dom asking 'What a girl like me was doing at a place like this?' My first and immediate thought was, what kind of stupid question is that?

A good reply would be "Haven't we met somewhere before?"

I always liked the question, "What's your sign?" [:)]

And my standard response:  "Slippery When Wet"

Too bad. I was hoping for "Yield".
