Unfortunately the demand, and the distribution vehicle for kinky writing does not look promising. But you can write, and there are plenty of other things to write. What you do for work is one thing, and if you take a nom de plume for the kinky stuff you might actually make a few bucks eventually, and that assumes your writing is good. I just don't think it would be reliable as a primary source of income, whereas looking around the world you see alot of printed material. Some of the people who write it get paid. Getting your foot in the door is the biggest hurdle. For example advertising copy. If there is one thing still going on it is advertising, nothing happens until something is sold. There are other possibilities out there, and I am in no position to enumerate them. You have to find them. Look in odd places. Put the newspaper down and get out a telephone book, a yellow, listed by category. Pose as a potential customer and gather information. How long will it take you to get an appointment, too soon they might have use for some advertising. You can try making your own fliers and possibly booklets, go around to the companies that might be ripe for picking and take some of the risk, use a unique coupon to distinguish business that your copy actually brought in. At worst you'll have to come up with some money for the initial printing, or a high end laser printer might prove to be a good investment. OK, this might not be the best advice, but it could work and I have considered doing it myself. I am really tired of my job. Notwithstanding the typos I commit here, I can do it, via about thirty years of learning, I used to be terrible at it. I learned by emulation. But I am to the point where at my previous job I was asked to author most of the company correspondence in certain matters, that because I could just do it, it would take three of them a whole day to clean it up and get the idea structure correct. Of course there is always setting your sights a bit lower for a time, for example write resumes for people, or more aptly maybe cover letters. It's advertising, just for an individual instead of a company. So many express themselves so poorly that they hurt themselves in the job market, which is fierce in almost any field today. With so many people layed off, phased out or whatever they choose to call it this year, there are probably enough job seekers that you could live on it. Even if you charge say twenty five bucks to clean their work up, do four of them a day and you should be OK. The problem is finding those people. Again, you have to find them, but I can tell you this much about how the world is based on my observations of a few decades, those who do the best in life do not seek opportunity, they make it. I know it is not easy. You might have to resort to some tactics, for example if you want to dabble in resumes and cover letters, perhaps it would be a good thing to sort of pose as an employment agency. Perhaps learn a bit of web design and start a site "wantajob.com" or something like that. Don't decieve, but you can imply. But then that is simply one aspect of advertising, which is what it is. None of these ideas might be right for you, who knows ? If not it is then up to you to find or create those opportunities. It can take many forms. You may want to see a carreer counsellor yourself, and if you do, keep your ideas in mind. They will at least have a better idea of how the job market stands these days. Even if you go on yuour own, you might gain some valuable information from them. These are just general suggestions, I don't even know where you are. Things are different all over, but have similarities. One is alot of people out of work and the other is alot of companies going out of business. Fortunes are made during times like these, but by the few. Unless you were born into big money, you'll have to forge a new opportunity for yourself. If you have a nice slush fund you can just buy low and sell high. Most of us can't do that. So that and a grain of salt is your's. Good luck, you'll need it, actually we all need it. T
